Back when I made my first post to the board it was requested of my to post a pic showing my current length. So here they are. this first on is just after I took my hair down from a double braid, getting ready to hop into the shower.

After the shower.
Back in the braids.
Yes, I've been getting alot of very positive feedback from the ladies since I started putting my hair in the double braids. It's also easier on me and my hair because I drive a truck for a living so that keeps my hair infrount of me instead of me continuely pinning my hair between my back and the seat.

Hi Daniel,
Thanks for the update and sharing the current length of your hair and it looks in great condition. Do keep it growing.
Cheers,
John.B
Thanks John,
Actually, my hair is doing alot better than it was just a few months ago. What the pics show is over 10 years of abuse practices, and 6 months of careful protection and real hair care.
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
Thank you for sharing your photos, and you are blessed with thick and healthy hair, with outstanding colour. Best of luck to you in your future progress!
Keep it growing,
David
Thanks David. Yes, I guess inspite of my best efforts to destroy my hair over the past decade, I truely am blessed with some thick and healthy hair. It really has become more and more healthy since I stopped trying to destroy it about 6 months ago. I visited a friend of mine a couple of weeks ago and he thought that it had actually gotten longer. Well maybe, but not much yet. Alot healthier, YES! As for the color, that all really depends on the lighting. In most normal lighting I an usually a dark brown, but in different variences of lighting quality can make it look almost red to even black. Most of my strands are dark brown, but I do have I think every natural shade under the sun on my head. Black, brown, red, blond, white and even grey, and everything in between. Name the shade, I've probably got it in there somewhere...lol
Daniel
I have it, and I think Scott (Absalom) mentioned having that two. It's when you have strands of multiple colors blended throughout, with complementary highlights and lowlights. I have various shades of blonde, light brown, and strawberry reds scattered throughout my head. I've always been a dark blonde with strawberry highlights. Though now, as I age, the mostly white hairs have been increasing. Blondes typically turn white, rather than gray. Different hair follicles produce different amounts of melatonin pigment, resulting in the mix of colors in the strands.

You have a great mane there, DanielR. It looks quite thick too. Thanks for showing a few photos. I really like the double braids. Do keep it growing for sure.
Scott
Thanks Scott, I wasn't real sure how well I'd like the double braid when I first gave it a try, but it's quickly became my favorite style (mostly because the ladies love it too)

Thanks, Yeah I never really know what color my hair is going to be in different lighting.
Daniel
Why is the hair so dry and damaged in the bottom part?
Perhaps he's not had any chance to use an decent conditioner or something.
Here's an idea why don't you share an update picture with is I'm sure people would be interested to see!
Cheers,
John.B
That's what happens when you don't take care of your hair propery, but rather treat it abusively for over a decade. Think it's bad now? You should have seen it before I adjusted my hair care practices significantly.
Daniel
What have you been doing with your hair? What do you do to take care of it? cause the new hair looks amazing.
First thing is that before I was pretty abusive to my hair, now I'm gentle with it and protect it via multi band ponytail or braid(s). Secondly, instead of shampooing my hair every time I shower like I used to, I now shampoo only once a week to two weeks. I use conditioner 2 to 3 times a week. So far that's about it, nothing really set in stone just pretty much experimenting with what works best yet.
