Hi guys and gals, OK, I went to a party with some of my fellow co-workers the other night. At work I wear my hair tucked, slicked and tied back. Anyway this guy I work with quite a bit notices me from across the room, hurries over to me and says "Wow John, I didn't recognize you with your hair down. You look like one of the Allman Brothers' (I Don't!) I took that as a big compliment. Also got the usual "Hey Cheech!" comment as well, to which I reply. "No,that's Chong dude!" Are there any other folks out there that have received what they considered to be compliments based on celebrity longhairs?

A friend (..sadist..!)send this to me asking if it was a recent photo....As they say; "With friend like that....."
I think the resemblance is all in the hat ! HA!
A few years back, when my hair was at "upper-chest" length and I was wearing a goatee, I went down to Texas to visit an old friend. He commented that when I was wearing my leather hat (kind of like a fedora, but wide-brimmed) that if my hair were blonde I'd look like General Custer.
I've been called Chabal and Jesus lol.
Hey guys. Whenever I had a beard w/my hair down, I heard both Charles Manson and Jesus (more often than not). After my recent cut to rid myself of dreadlocks, I have approx. 5" of curly hair which prompted "Little Orphan Annie" a few weeks back : )
.
...I put my hair into pig tails and went into Wendys.
I told them I was Wendy and since all the food was mine anyway they should give me a burger for free. I got a good laugh but I still had to pay.

A gas station attendant told me I look like Charles Manson the other day, in a very apologetic way.
Nice!
Sometimes I get "The Oakridge Boys" when I'm with some other long haired, long bearded guys I know. ZZ Top, Jesus, and a couple of others that I don't remember right now too.

Hi JonalBear, I sometimes get the Jesus thing, or get accused of being a hippie.

I'm always being told that I look like Mike McDonald from the Doobie Brothers, which I don't. Apparently he doesn't even have long hair anymore.
That's pretty cool jonalbear!
I usually get compared to James Hetfield (uh, pre-haircut), Dave Mustaine and sometimes Axel Rose. It all depends on how drunk they are! lol.
Why the hell do people always get Cheech and Chong mixed up? To bad they'll never work together again.
Paul
I got Axl Rose off a guy once too! Also Alexi Laiho (sp?) from Children of Bodom from a girl, I took both as insults because I don't like either of them and neither of them even have the same colour hair as me >:( Haha! Also got Jesus and "a cavemen" not that either are celebrities..oh and Scott Gorham from Thin Lizzy, of course I don't look like any of them it's just the hair I suppose
I used to hear Jesus quite abit and occationally John Lenon. Jesus I could understand because way back when my hair was shoulder length I just left it loose (with help from a heavy dose of hair cream) and at the time I didn't where glasses, I actually favored the pictures of Jesus that you commonly see. But John Lenon?

I got a Cousin It from the Addams Family show once, now that dude had some hair!

The other week one of my friends said I looked like that bad guy from the Twilight film. Not having a clue who he might be, I figured it must be a compliment.
Thanks to all who contributed to my thread!

I have been told that I look a little like Derek Trucks!
Darrin
Seeing the band live in London on Wednesday.
Darrin, A very cool band. Kind of an offshoot of the
Allman Brothers Band.

Allman Brothers isn't bad... I get either Ozzy, Alice Cooper or Howard Stern. Actually, Howard Stern isn't too far off! However, I do play the Alice Cooper card for Halloween!
Hmmm...
Based on your photo, I'm gonna go with piano player Chuck Leavell; his hair was never that long, but he's always had curly hair and a beard. (He's equally known today for playing keys with the Rolling Stones.)
