Well thanks for the advice guys I have managed to get to another milestone. If it wasn't for your advice I probably would have kept washing my hair with that Head and Shoulders anti dandruff stuff and possibly could have fallen into pressure to trim my hair. Its been about a year for me, last time I cut my hair was in March it was less than an inch.I had a trim in July and that set me back a couple of months and since then never had I has my hair had contact with scissors.
I also have a question about my hair
Will gravity takes its toll once its longer thus making it a bit more neater in a few months?
Will the excessive heat in summer influence my hair? It does get to scorching temperatures where I live.
Hi Zer0snp,
Once your hair gains length it will be much easier to manage so gravity will be your friend my friend:)Right now your hair look to be in excellent condition but I would be avoiding trims as you need to get more length and trims only set you back. The summer can be hard on your hair if you let the hot sun beat down on you head from a prolonged period. You may consider wearing some kind of hat them. Also high humidity is another enemy of longhair as it can really frizz it out.Anyway good luck with you journey and do post more pics when you get a chance.Cheers
Mark
Great update shot and your hair is wonderful....very healthy and personally I think pure black hair is attractive.
It looks like very soon, gravity will indeed become your friend and pull you ends down past your shoulders (end of the awkward stage).
I also live in an area with ungodly summer heat. We wear hats whenever in direct sunlight. If I must work in the heat, I usually wear a bandanna which absorbs the sweat and salt. When the day is over I use a fair amount of conditioner.
Thanks for the update and keep us posted.

Hi there, Head & Shoulders is the work of the devil, horrible stuff.
Gravity will take over, you have good thickness so when it does get really long it will look amamzing.
As for heat, here in the UK we don't get too much, but I would say a Buff would cover your hair well, especially the UV CoolMax version. Check em out they look cool.

Hey there :)
Your hair looks awesome. You have achieved some serious lenght, It's indeed quite thick and when it grows longer it'll be just magnificent !
I don't think that you should worry that much about the weather. It's also quite hot in the summer where I live. But if you really want to protect it from heat damage you could try using some heat protector sprays, or serums.
wish you all the best and keep the hair growin' ;)

Hi Zer0sup,
Thank you for sharing your update with us, and you are blessed with anb excellent head of hair to grow a lot longer. It is thick and healthy, with great shine. Geberally, as gravity takes over with longer length, your natural waves will tend to straighten out. We look forward to supporting you on your journey to even longer hair!
Keep it growing,
David
I'll echo the comments already made and add you have about 6months to a year and your hair will behave itself.
Kevin
First of all you have some great looking hair, but I really love black hair, always have.
Yes, gravity will help as your hair grows out. Believe it or not (if you happened to read my "as requested" thread, I used to have very wavy hair with some very tight curls underneath. Now as you can see that I just have some decent waves for the most part, although I did manage to retain some of my tight curls but nothing like I used to have.
As far as the heat goes, I guess it all depends on how much your out in it. I didn't do anything to protect my hair for several years, and it shows. So follow the advise of the others of using a conditioner and some kind of head wear.
Daniel
So far so good your hair is coming along fine and within 6-8 months with the added growth and weight it will fall alot better.
Cheers,
