here was me yesterday (my 11 month update)...
my website
...and here is me today, after a haircut! (yes, you're probably all going to call me a traitor etc lol)
There 's no evil in having a trim :) The fact is, even though it feel maybe better today, the awkward stage may be longer. Anyway, I personally prefer the "wild" look ;)
Keep growing these blond locks, it'll be fantastic.
Vivien
Hi Vivien,
I have to agree with you but some people think they know better and yes it will take longer. How feeble!
Cheers,
John.B
Yeah, I know, I'm a traitor to longhairs everywhere ;)
I got trims in the back while I was growing out. I can understand that as it eventually leads to the all one length look. It looks like you got your hair cut everywhere though including your bangs. If you like the length where it is, that's fine. If you're going for long hair then your cut made no sense.
Reading the post and few replies so far and then your reply.
So I'll ask what are you after? Do you want to grow long hair?
How long or rather what is your goal? I've nothing against trims
we may take the piss a bit with trimmers but it's your hair and as Jason indicated if you have a goal of a certain shape or all one length, lovely.
I was curious after seeing the little ;-) winky symbol are you growing your hair or just amusing yourself? So in short, what's the plan? You have a good head of hair and it would look good long but trims will make that take forever.
I wouldn't call you a traitor but I wonder if your serious.
Kevin
It's not like growing hair is some sort of religion with penalties of transgression. Let's don't beat our blond friend up too badly.
I totally agree, hence the wink! It's as if people on this board who have trims are traitors/heretics/infidels/whatever, and quite frankly, I think it's silly!
How serious am I? Not taking something as simple as a choice of hair style too seriously.
I reasonable question I thought.
Not beating anyone up, trust me if that were the case the thread would read much differently.
I agree as well.
Justin~
As you have asked....
It does look OK asa medium length style and you have been lucky to find someone who would do it as well and without butchery. Is this just an interim trim prior to growing it fully out?
Yep, just a small tidy-up on the way to growing it.
....and I would hardly call that a "haircut", more like a dusting.
Very little was taken off and personally, I think it looks great.
I call hair like yours; "Robert Redford Hair"
Looking good my friend; I will be watching for more updates.

I too had a minor trim at the back and sides to "tidy up" the jagged ends a bit when I was at about 10 months worth of hair growth. They cut about an inch off at the back. Just a temporally set back for you dusepo but hey it does make the hair look a lot tidier and neater.
Duncan
I don't know what the big deal is. He got a bit of hair cut. So what? It's his choice, if he wants it "neater" then leave him be. I think it DOES look neater after the cut. Yes the ends will start waving out again in a month or two, but not everyone is comfortable with that the first time around.
I've trimmed my own hair multiple times, and I don't regret any of them. My ends were healthier, I had fewer tangles... and my hair is nearly halfway down my back in a bit over 2 years. Not once have I gotten a negative comment from this board. I don't understand why some people here act as if trimming will prevent you from having long hair. Certainly it will take longer, but if you're happier with it along the way then what's so bad about it?
Anyway, Dusepo, your hair is looking great. It looks like you have a slight wave, that'll look great when it gets past your shoulders, if you wish to grow to that length.
Peter
You've got great hair! By the way, I think that getting trims along the way acctually shows dedication, because it shows that you're gonna get there no matter how long it takes.
Looked good then. Looks good now. Gonna look good the longer it gets. Keep it growin', and keep us posted.

Hey Val,
I couldn't have said it better myself!
And to Dusepo:
You have a GREAT head of hair to work with! The first time I grew my hair out, I had lots of trims. To me, it was all a prt of the journey. Since I had never had really looooong hair before, I didn't mind the fact that trims made my hair grow more slowly. I had fun experimenting with different styles along the way; but, gradually grew it longer and looonger during the early - mid '90s. Eventually I found out that the longer it got, and the less I fussed with it, the happier I became. That was part of my discovery process, I guess.
It's all individual. You'll discover what you like best as you continue along down the "longhaired highway" (so-to-speak - LOL). Maybe you'll find a medium-length style that ends up being your favorite preference; or, maybe you'll continue to discover that aiming for terminal length might be your ultimate goal after all.... Either way, as long as you're having fun, more power to you!!
When I cut off my long hair in Y2K, I found out the hard way that I'm a longhair for life, --- so, my 2nd time at growing my hair back, I had very few trims this time. But, again, it's all individual.
Happy hair farming!
