Well salutations and whatnot, my fellow long haired males. Well, mine only brushes past my shoulders at the moment, but I'm thinking I'll try to let it grow out to the terminal stage this time around just to see how long I can really get it. But that's not the topic at hand.
The fact of the matter is, my father is bald and my mother's father is bald. Now I've heard arguments suggesting that either all of my hair is going to fall out for sure or there's no way to really tell. So far I haven't seen any signs of hair loss, but then again I'm only 19 so I shouldn't really expect to. Nevertheless, I figured if I do start to see more loss than normal in the next year or two, then I should start doing something about it.
So... has anyone here had to deal with this issue? I'm aware of big name products like rogaine and such. I'm just curious to see what others here might have to say.
Thanks in advance.
Hi there Mr. Wwwyzzerdd,
I have a receding hairline and have experienced some degree of general hair-thinning; but, otherwise, consider myself to be quite lucky in the hair department, considering I'm 55.
I've never tried Rogaine or any other similar product, as I just choose to accept whatever Mother Nature has dished out in my direction (genetically-speaking). But, there are others here who have used those types of hair products, and occasionlly give us updated reports on that topic.
I once met a man who was COMPLETELY bald in front and on top of his head; but, what hair he did have flowed all the way down almost to his KNEES!!!! And, best of all, he looked WONDERFUL (in my opinion, at least)!! That ended my concern over my own modest hair loss. My advise is: just enjoy your hair while you can, --- and, even if a lot of it heads South as you grow older... You should STILL enjoy whatever hair you have on your head!!!

Thats definetly the way i'm looking at my whole hair journey. I'm just gonna go with the flow. So what if your completly bald on top i'd still be happy with flowing locks from the back and sides. I'm 25 so think i've a bit to go yet!!
But thats the frame of mind alright...
I suggest that you monitor it closely and should MPB begin try Propecia in conjunction with Rogaine. Together, they work very well. Avodart seems to be more effective than Propecia, but, it is expensive.

I love Aqua Teen Hunger Force! xD
My Dad was completely bald on top by the time he was in his late 20s. The same "curse" affected my uncle and now 42 y.o. cousin as well. I'm two months away from 49 and have a good bit of thinness on top but am not completely bald up there. I'm hoping with doubly-crossed fingers that it won't get any worse. I've never attempted trying any products to "fix" it. I'll live with what I have.
