Hey everyone. I've been coming here "lurking" since 2 months of growth and I really appreciate all the tips and awesome hair. All this encouraged me and helped keep my hair healthy. Just want to say I love how the site is and hope to contribute as well as update!
My routine has been shampoo and conditioner every 48 hours. Now I've started S&C, water wash only for 2 days after that and then S&C again. I only finger comb my hair...
I also have a goal of Midback like many others here. I want the hair in front to be midback along with the others so I will probably even it up in a year and a half. :)
Here's a link to my pics. Including a Before pic.
I think my hair is wavy/curly/spirals. Not sure, lol.
During my first time growing my hair it's been hard taking comments about how it looks bad and to cut it. But, I enjoy it. I don't care what people say or think. My goal is 2 more years! And probably more! I love my hair and long hair in general. I'm hoping you guys enjoy this and maybe even tell me if there are any longhairs here with similiar hair types!
It's been tough keeping it neat during the awkward stage(VERY awkward right now but still loving it!
Well, sorry if this was a little too long for your taste but either way I hope you all enjoy this update. Expect an update at either 16 or 18 months! Hmmm, maybe sooner or later?
Hi there Adam,
Thanks for stepping out of the shadows to show and tell us about yourself.I just looked at your link and you have a very cool mane going there my friend:)Also your goal of mid back will look cool when you reach it.In fact once you achieve that goal you just may want to go even longer.I myself have to wash and condition every two days as my hair looks very flat and oily if I let it go longer.Certainly it doesn't look very nice so the S & C makes it look nice again:)Every one of us here has to experiment as to what works best for our own hair and it sounds like you are doing that now.Good luck with your journey and do post often and stay in touch. Thanks again and hope you are having a great weekend,Cheers.
Mark
Thanks a lot, Mark! I most likely will probably continue growing from midback to waist. If I like it I would keep it there. If I don't like it as much as midback then just cut it back to Midback LOL. But, I most definately would probably love waist haha.
Your hair looks pretty cool too and I hope your growing goes well.

A hearty welcome, Adam. Your hair is off to a great start and appears to be in excellent condition. Curly hair like yours looks spectacular when long. My prediction is that you will have hanging ringlets when it gets to mid back length. Do keep it growing, and if you need advice, don't be afraid to ask.
Scott
Thanks a lot,Scott. I hope everything is going well with your hair growing :) and btw your hair looks great!
Hi Adam,
Welcome to the hyperboard, and I am so glad that you shared your update with us, here in our community. You have the most outstanding head of thick and curly hair, and all of us look forward to supporting you as you grow your hair longer.
Welcome aborad,
David
Thanks David! I know you saw my update from LHC but I just want to say thanks again and thanks for reminding me to try and post here on mlhh again!
Here's another pic I took today!
Awesome hair..love your curls. I just had mine curled and totally gigg how easy it is to care for
Peace
Thanks! I only fingercomb mine.
What I think is with curly hair you just finger comb and it still looks good! With straighter hair you have to comb and make sure it doesnt look messy!
Just my opinion. haha
Welcome to posting to the board. Your hair looks great.
Way back when my hair was much shorter (like collar to shoulder length) I had a mix of wavy hair with curls and spirals underneath (spirals still shows up when my hair is wet) but I didn't have near the curls that you appear to have in that second pic. Anyway, as my hair grew out most of it straigtened out till I now have almost all wavy hair. However, on the rare occation that I leave my hair loose or only in a single band pony tail, you can see that my curls are still there, as well as a few spirals. Looks good I think, but I have trouble with tangles so I usually keep my hair in braids or multi band ponytail which hides the curls/spirals and pretty much trains them into waves. With curls and spirals, just because of the nature of that style of hair, a person never really gets through the awkward stage. (Unless my hair is braided, I still concider myself in the awkward stage, and my hair pulls straight to 4 inches above my waist.) But tailing it when it gets long enough will ease the perpetual awkward stage.
Daniel
Hey Daniel. Thanks a lot. I'm hoping my hair straightens a bit the longer it gets because the fuzzyness and curlyness are crazy haha! I can't wait til I can tail and braid my hair :)
Your hair is looking awesome by the way
Welcome aboard Adam!
I am glad that this site has been of help to you.
You'll find a hair-care routine that works well for your hair type. You'll likely make lots of adjustments to the routine as hair grows longer.
Best wishes reaching hair growth goal.

Thanks Oren!
It's usually dramatic when someone posts a before pic and then an after pic, but guy your pics are amazing. You look so good with longer hair. Good luck, and whatever you do don't cut that amazing hair.
I may be a little strange here in that I like how hair looks in the so-called awkward stage. My hair got curly like yours (but not as nice :) and I've kept it there because I like it so much.
Thanks a lot! You should post a pic sometime.
Wow. That's awesome hair, Adam. Why did you ever have your head buzzed? Have more pics when it was shorter?
