I've noticed that many people put gel in their hair and either leave it like that to get the "wet look" or brush it to leave it looking softer but less movable, especially during the awkward stage. I could never ever do this, I hate having gunk in my hair. I'm in the awkward stage too and it flips and goes crazy sometimes but it doesn't bother me at all, I would much rather have "awkward" hair that moves in the wind and girls can run their hands through it rather than stiff hair glued to my head. Anyone else feel the same way?
Apparently you are anti- a lot of things. Considering anarchy is the absence of order, this is no surprise!
I've used gel once since I started growin my hair out over a year and a half ago. I wear my hair to work tied back in a tail and then use water to slick it back. It works OK at keeping my hair close to my head and doesn't look wet when it dries. The one time I used gel (dippity do extreme sport gel-it's water based) instead of water to keep my hair slicked back, it looked wet all day, made my hairs stick together, and my hair felt dried out for a couple days after I washed it out. Gel's good for an emergency (a job interview), but I don't use it regularly.
