A while ago I said my head was really itchy but it wasn't lice.... well turns out it is, I got rid of them a few weeks ago, then did it again to get them all out.... But their back again the little ****s! I got long, past nipple length, straight healthy shiny hair and they love it! Anyone know how to get rid of these buggers for good>? Cause it seems if you leave one egg in, a few weeks later your infested again.
"Olive Oil is the best smothering agent. It has been lab-tested and found to be effective in killing head lice. Olive oil has few, if any, allergic properties and is relatively inexpensive. The least expensive grade - pumace or restaurant grade - is best. And olive oil can be purchased with food stamps. Smothering head lice is a safe and effective treatment option, but it can be somewhat complicated. To smother successfully, you have to be persistent and know when and how to apply the smothering agent."
Read the whole article. I have a friend with low-back length hair who did the olive oil and it worked.
treat with nix or something similar. wash, vacuum and spray with lice spray all furniture and bedding. Use nit comb to at least loosen the nits if you can't get them out. Wet hair and use a HAIR DRIER ON HOT two times a day for two weeks. This tip was given to me by a nurse from county health department. Its the heat that kills the eggs. Nix wont do it apparently. Then after 10 to 14 days repeat the process. I had three granddaughters that were passing around lice for like 6 months and they always came back until I used this method.
It seems that Cassia is a good product in this case, as it purifies the scalp. So you should try to eliminate the parasite with a comb, wash your hair and leave cassia on your hair few hours. Good luck !
In case you don't know : Cassia is an herbal. A sort of Neutral Henna; it doesn't color the hair, but strengthen it, and purifies the scalp. It may dry your mane, though.

We've had a lice scare in my house, since my grandkids had it. But so far (knock on wood), my wife and I have not been affected. But I read up on the little boogers and found this info.
The adults live on human blood, (and will die in 2 days if deprived of it). They fasten their eggs to your hair shafts, and they can't be dislodged easily. The eggs hatch in 8 to 10 days.
Infected clothing, bedding, etc. should be washed in water 130 degrees F or above. If any items can't be washed, they should be sealed in a plastic bag for 2 weeks. That is long enough to deprive the lice and hatched eggs of food, and they will die.
There is a lice treatment you can get at many stores called Lice MD. It contains no insecticide. The main ingredient is Dimethicone, which is also found in some conditioners. You put it on your head, leave it for 10 minutes, and then comb it out with a nit comb (provided in the package). Then you wash it out. It not only kills the lice, but leaves your hair soft and manageable.
This might sound weird, but if you put olive oil on your hair for an hour it smothers them..they can hold their breath up to 20 minutes(talking about trying to survive) if that doesn't work you can always try vinegar, good luck.
