It's been about a week since I posted that pic from a year and a half ago, where I mentioned that my hair in back looks about the same now as then. Thanks to all who replied, as listed below:

Matt M,
--- I hope I didn't forget to mention anyone!
4 of us went down the CA coast highway yesterday (Bill & Larry, and also my partner, Even, and myself)... We ate at Duarte's Tavern in the little town of Pescadero, --- famous for their Cream of Artichoke Soup, Ollalieberry Pie, and also excellent seafood. After some window-shopping at a wooden crafts shop, we tried to take a walk along one of the beaches; but, it was very VERY windy and cold!!! Even took a few pics of my hair at the beach; but, I still need to fill up my card w/ more shots yet to take before making a disk to load into my computer... So, it may take a few weeks before I'm able to post the pics from yesterday.
In any case, thanks again for the replies from last week!

Hi Ken,
It would have been great to finally have met you at Duarte's yesterday but as you know my trip out west was an unusual circumstance. As I was already back in NJ Saturday afternoon it was nice to be out on the west coast last week.Really a nice place to be when things are tough.
I'll be looking forward to seeing some new pics of you when you are ready to post them.Until then I'll just have to be patient:)Cheers my friend.
Mark
No problem, Mark, --- I totally understood this, and it was just a matter of happenstance that Bill & Larry decided to drive as far South as Pescadero that day.... We all thought of you, though, and Bill & Larry described how the meet up with you went last year. Larry said something like: "When we were waiting for a table to open up at the restaurant, in walks this guy with butt-length hair, --- and I think to myself, 'I bet this must be Mark Hairball'!" (LOL!!)
I still feel bad about having missed last year's meet up w/ you. It was just one of those awkward situations w/ having a conflict of plans w/ my family that I should have checked in about, first. A similar situation to what happened when I was in the UK w/ family members in '06, unable to meet up w/ John B while in the London area. Sometimes these long-distance longhair meet ups are successful; sometimes not. I've always enjoyed the ones I have made it to, though, --- and feel it's just a matter of time before you & I will eventually get to actually meet face-to-face and hair-follicle-to-hair-follicle (especially since you visit out here fairly often, due to your own family in the Bay Area).
In any case, take care, my friend, --- and I hope that your trip out West last week was successful and reassuring, and that the difficult circumstances you told me about have improved since we last talked.
Long Lox 4ever,
Ken
Hey Ken
So glad such a great group of 4 were able to dine at Duartes. But now famous for Cream of Artichoke? Perhaps they have changed menu or ownership(?), for back in the 90's I remember loving their Clam Chowder. Ummmmmm, Yum, Yum. Looking forward to seeing your up to date long hair photos and also quite curious if the pumpkins still grow down right next to the ocean. (Or maybe that might have been just a little bit south getting near Davenport?) Since being there my brains dropped out and the search is still on. LOL :-)
They are famous for BOTH soups, --- as well as a 3rd soup that they make homemade: Roasted Green Chile Soup!
Cream of Artichoke is particularly time-consuming (I know from first-hand experience, as dealing w/ the artichokes alone all by themselves are very time-consuming), --- and that's why Duarte's is so famous for that particular soup (Clam Chowder, by comparison, is a piece of cake to make - lol)!!
Looking forward to seeing your up to date long hair photos and also quite curious if the pumpkins still grow down right next to the ocean. (Or maybe that might have been just a little bit south getting near Davenport?)
Yes, the pumkins still grow right down next to the ocean, both in the Half Moon Bay area AND around Pescadero & Davenport, too, I believe. Every October, right around Halloween, Half Moon Bay has its annual Pumkin Festival. The traffic around that time of year is HORRIBLE, though, --- be sure to bring a book to read in the car while you're driving... It's THAT BAD!!!!
Since being there my brains dropped out and the search is still on. LOL :-)
GOOD NEWS: They've found 'em!!!!!!!
In fact, your brains have proven to be useful as a very fine-quality fertilizer for growing those pumkins we just talked about... The locals have been amazed ever since that scientific discovery, resulting in pumpkin-growers all around the area winning first-place prizes at both the state and national levels, astounding even the judges of pumpkin contests because of Half Moon Bay area's extraordinarily HU-U-U-U-UGE sized gourds!!!
See, your brains ARE "useful" after all (LOL)!!

How about trying Campbells Cream of Mushroom soup, goes lovely with chicken!
We know the french like Artichokes. My only experience of them was on my first trip to France on a school trip when I was 11. One of the got served up on a plate for each of us and they demonstrated how to eat them. I tried one leaf and left it and the rest of my schoolpals did was well. How to upset your french hosts at the first meal!
I've never touched them since.
Cheers,
