I haven't had a haircut since July 1988 and I haven't had a trim since November 1997.
I found this website back in 2002 and this is my first post.
Hi there,
It good to know you been watching the website since 2002 and for de-lurking and thanks for the amazing update picture. That is a very impressive mane of hair there as I'm sure you know we have a couple of people with hair that length. You certainly a great "hair farmer" glad to see you've kept away from the scissors.
Don't we a stranger.
Cheers,
John.B
Thanks for your kind words.
I've only been here 7 or 8 times over the years and never had anything to say that someone else hadn't already said. I've only recently taken a picture of my hair, otherwise I would have posted sooner. I'll have to make it a point to come back more often and see what you guys are up to.
"You certainly a great "hair farmer"..."
Is a Hair Farmer the only kind of farmer who doesn't want to harvest his crop?
"glad to see you've kept away from the scissors."
I'm allergic to scissors. When I'm near a pair of scissors my face turns red and I become short-winded. ;-)

A hearty welcome, Baldy. Now that is some great long hair. There are a few here with super long hair. I stopped getting mine cut in 1992, so you have a few years on me. Mine is well over 3 feet long. Yours also appears to be over 3 feet long as well. I have read that hair, if left uncut, will usually reach a maximum length of between 2 and 3 feet. I guess we both got bonuses on hair length. Anyway, welcome to MLHH.
Scott
Yes, my hair is over 3 feet long. Four years ago I measured one strand growing from the top of my head and it was 47". I've seen pictures of your hair and its probably longer than mine. I used to blow dry my hair (9 years) until I discovered that I had split ends that had given birth to their own split ends, which had split ends of their own. I guess you could say my original split ends had split end grandchildren. Some had great great grandchildren. My hair seemed to almost stop growing for a few years because of the blow drying. If not for the blow drying, my "fro" would probably be a few inches longer, but these days I don't really care like I would have 15 years ago. I hardly ever think of my hair until it gets hot or people say something about it.
Now, If I could only figure out how to grow a beard. I have one of the flimsiest goatees in the history of mankind.
(Your name is Scott? My name is Scott, too.)
"...I found this website back in 2002 and this is my first post..."
Welcome and I hope it will not be another 7 years before we see the next update.
Great length; Thanks for Sharing

I'll try to come by a little more often and see what you guys have been up to. I've only been here 7 or 8 times over the years but now that I've made my first post and have receive a warm welcome, I'll have to make it a point to come back more often and offer my two cents.
Phenomenal mane there Baldy, great name btw!!
cheers Dave
Thank you for the kind words about my mane and my name. :-)
I just LOVE your handle name, Baldy!!
And, that's one totally AMAZING mane you got there... So glad you decided to come out of the lurking shadows and say hi to us, --- now just don't wait around until July of 2028 to make your 2nd post here (lol)!!
- Ken in San Francisco
Thanks for the compliment, and I'm glad you like my name. People have been calling me Baldy since I was 16.
Welcome to MLHH. We would have welcomed you sooner but we didn't know you were there. LOL You've done a great job hair farming. I haven't had a haircut or trim since April 1998, so you have just a few months on me in the anti-scissor campain. Great to have you here, come back soon and post often.
Daniel
Thanks for the warm welcome. I don't ever remember to come here or I would have introduced myself a long time ago.
Welcome to the MLHH Scott.
We now have two super long-haired Scotts here!
Great looking mane.
- Oren
Thanks for the warm welcome. Do you think I can borrow your beard one of these days? The three hairs and some air I have growing out of my face just ain't cutting it.
WOW! Now that's some awesome hair for a Baldy!LOL.Interesting user name based on what you look like but hey, makes life interesting.I applaud you in your dedication to growing you hair so long:)Don't see many guys with a mane that long but looks fantastic on you.Feel free to post more pics in the future my friend. Also welcome to finally posting after all those years of lurking.Cheers
Mark
Thanks for the warm welcome and kind words. I've haven't really been to this site very many times, but I'll have to make it a point come back more often.
I'm glad you like my name. It was given to me back in 1992.
The reason why I haven't posted before now is because I've just recently taken a picture of my hair. I don't have any other pictures of myself. I guess no one likes taking pictures of me.
Hi Baldy,
Welcome to the hyperboard, and I am very pleased that you have shared your photo with us. You have a truly outstanding head of hair, and are a genuine inspiration to everyone. Hopefully, we will see you posting more often!
Welcome aboard,
David
Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad I've been an inspiration, but I'm really just an average guy.
I'll try to remember to get on here from time to time. So far this is the third night in a row I've visited. Before that I had only come here 7 or 8 times in 7 years.
After more than 20 years of growth, I believe you have reached terminal length, but it is a lot of hair. It would be nice if you have a larger photo of you and your hair.
Matthew
My hair seems to still be growing but not 6 inches a year. It's probably 3 inches longer than it was 2 years ago.
What about split ends? Does it get easily tangled? I imagine it would after not having a trim in 12 years... but you might just be lucky :P
I have maybe one split end for every ten hairs and the un-split ones look just like they've been trimmed. I guess that's not bad after 12 years.
It doesn't really get tangled. I only brush it once every one or two weeks. After I jump out of the shower I run my fingers through it and then I put it in a ponytail and that's mainly where it stays.
Wow that is a long time growing!
Welcome to the community hopefully you will post more often from now on :)
Thanks for the warm welcome. It's nice to know that everyone is so nice and upbeat on this message board. Most other forums I've visited seem to be full of people looking to argue or pick fights or they're very unwelcoming to new people. The people on this board are excellent. I should have posted a lot sooner, pic or no pic.
Really impressive. I hope you get a chance to take some additional pics from the side or 3/4 view.
As much as I think I'd never get to terminal length (being fickle and sometimes impulsive works against that), your post reminds me what time and nature can accomplish.
Chris
I'm glad you like. I'll see if my sister will take some pictures the next time I see her.
Don't get too frustrated, it only takes a few years (4 or 5 maybe) to get half way to terminal length. The other half is what takes the longest. The worst part of the growth process is the awkward stage and that doesn't last too long.
Hey Baldy,
Those are some amazing locks you have there. Seeing that photo is inspiring me to grow my hair to terminal length! Thanks for showing us the photo and keep up the good work and be sure to stay away from the scissors.
Chris.
I'm glad I've inspired you, just be prepared to take a lot of crap from a lot of people for a lot of years.
