First off Drood refers to "Druid", which in turn refers to a World of Warcraft character. I tend to be unimaginative with handles, so I stick with what I'm used too.
I thought I'd dip my feet in here after reading some posts. Quite the community, of which I was never aware. Nice to read posts about things I deal with on an every day basis.
Anyway, I'll start off with a story. Very recently (a week or so ago) my best friend asked me if I would cut my hair (implied short). His reasoning was I'm to be his best man at his wedding and he wanted everyone to look "groomed". To be honest, before I started growing my hair, I was a rather timid individual. Back then, I would have just given in and done as he asked. However, now I find myself more and more steadfast in my decisions. Even after he offered my $200, I still refused.
He's since given up and I haven't heard anything else on the subject. Anyone else have similar stories or found themselves more of a strong principled person after growing their hair?
First I'd like to say, I played WoW for 3 years.. and just today was trying to decide if I want to re-activate my account!.. haha.
Long hair has made me more confident, and my buddies ask me all the time if I'm going to cut it, or tell me that I should because I look like a girl, etc. Basically I just reply with, "No way man, I'm growin' this s*** to my waist!"..
In all honesty, my hair is about 13-15 inches long? (Terrible with guesstimating). People realize that I want my hair long, and don't seem to pester me anymore.
Got any pictures of your hair to share?

Personally I would have been very offended by this "friend" asking me to change my appearence to be in his wedding.
And I would have politely declined his request and told him it was ok for him to find another person to take your place.
It was rude and insensitive of him.

I was slightly put off by the request. I did have a hunch it was a request from his fiance and not him (which has been confirmed). I was going to tell him to find a new Best Man. But, he seemed to figure out it was important to me, after I declined the money.
Hopefully his fiance understands and she wont end up making a rift between two people that have been friends since 3rd grade.
No picture, atm. I'll take a look around for a digital camera and see what I can do.
We're quite happy to wait!
Wow man thats kinda messed up. But i guess maybe i can see his point but he just took it to extreme asking you to cut. Maybe you could of showed him a tidy way to carry it off that day. Maybe ponytial(if not long enough tail with pins) or slicked back with some gel.
Maybe he didn't know you could carry it off neat and just seen the wrong solution.
Post some pics man.
welcome
Hey Drood, welcome to the hyperboard!
That's some crazy s*** about cutting your hair to be a best man! I got married 11 years ago and I was the only guy with longhair at my wedding! I wish I'd thought about it I could have asked all my friends to were wigs that day! Lol.
I want to play World of Warcraft very badly but I have dial up and don't want to waste my money. I'll just have to wait.
Some of my buddies have told me that Fable was pretty good. Heard of it?
Paul
Fable was an awesome game. The second was even better. I think I'll bring up the wig idea to my friend :)
Hey Drood, I myself am a level 80 druid on the Forgotten Coast server. I quit a couple of months back though. Fable is an excellent game!
Drood,
Friends don't ask friends to cut their hair.
Tell your friend that you will wear it in a very neat way. You might practice alternatives. zTail? Celtic Clasp.
Ands, by the way. Druids were no war like. Thaat is a projection back in time from our hyper aggressive society. Let's get over it and endeavor to return to a live and let live world, where under-population did not require competition for scaarce resources.
