Hi,
Wondering how frequently is too frequent to wash my hair without getting into damaging territory?
I tend to wash every few days, but I have noticed it has really started to get dull by the end of a second day, and is noticably greasy by the 3rd. This is new territory for me, as I have never had it long enough to be able to tell (1-2cm vs 16 months now).
Is there any risk associated with washing it daily?
Cheers,
Matt.
I wash it every day. Shampoo once a week. But, I'm ging to stop shampooing...
I water wash only for 3 days in a row then condition a lot on the 4th. Or I might mix it depending on how I'm feeling.
My hiar also gets greasy so I choose to rinse with water on those days.
Ask 3 longhairs and you'll get 5 opinions.
As for me, I shampoo every 3 days, condition daily.

SO TRUE!!
Ok, here's mine. I wash and condition twice a week on average. Any more and my hair becomes very fly-away. I use jojoba oil on the day of a shampoo and usually the day after.
For what it's worth I think I could go longer between shampoos if I didn't have hard water. The minerals in our water seem to make my hair feel "tacky" after about 3 or 4 days...thus my schedule.
(If shampooing every day works for you, I don't think it will damage your hair. Again, FWIW.)

I wash it once or twice a week with good quality castile soap and ordinary, cheap conditioner. Shampoo seems to strip too much oil, which ends up making my hair greasier.
I shampoo every three days and condition daily.
I also use a leave in conditioner every day to protect from sun damage.
I wash & condition daily. Especially in the summer here in Texas. No problems so far.
Hi Matt
This is what works for me.I shampoo and condition every other day as any longer and my hair looks crummy.I use only the smallest dab of shampoo but much more conditioner. After towel drying my hair I put in some leave in conditioner for insurance.Works for me at least:)Cheers

Sounds like I can get away with pushing to every second at least without causing problems, which is ok with me :)
Just don't like having my hair greasy, although its easier to handle then :p
Cheers,
Matt.
