A couple days ago Xeon mentioned "barber shops in his post.
That reminds me of one of my favorite quips.
If I'm talking to somebody and during the course of that conversation they happen to say 'barber shop' I'll stop them and ask "Uh, a what?" They say,"Huh? A barber shop?" "Yeah... what is THAT?" I ask with a much confused look.
This has never failed to cause at least a chuckle.
I haven't used this one with a longhair yet. Well, they rarely mention barber shops anyway.
Paul
Hah, I love using that quip also. I'm sure you've heard of this situation.
-Someone is talking about a haircut, and you respond with, ''What's this 'haircut'(pronounce it awkardly like its a foreign word) you speak of?
Same quip different situation.
-Squid
Absolutely Squid, I use that one too!

My slogan for the last ten years of my Navy time was "When I retire I'm gonna throw away my razor and forget where my barber lives..."
Damn right Jim!
I've been meaning to ask you, did that "I gotta grow my hair" feeling sneak up on you over time or did it just hit you out of the blue one day? I have to know the story.
Paul
I'd always liked the look, but between my folks and the Navy, never really got the chance. With the way mine grows, I was having to get it cut every week or so to stay within Navy regs, and after 10 years of it, was getting rather tired of that routine. When I re-enlisted at the ten-year point I knew I would be in for the full twenty, and I promised myself that after I retired I was gonna grow it out. Then again, my original intention was only a bit more than shoulder length, but the longer it got the more I liked it.
I can't do anything but admire that, Jim.
Paul
Hi Paul, that's a good one.
I'll add:
(Said with a wink and a smile)
"What is the matter with looking the way a grown man, with a functional pair of nuts, was meant to look?"
This one has always gotten a chuckle :)

Oh hell yeah! That would be an especially good one directed toward one of those 'buzzard heads'!
They think they look so 'butch', lol.
