I grew my hair out from bald, but now I'm done... finally!! I'd still like it longer, but now I don't need to worry about the awkward stage. Hope I left some inspiration for some of you still growing..
Congrats!!!!!! It looks great!!!!
Great hair bud. You inspire me. I am just at 10 months at the moment. You will look awesome as it ges longer. Continue to update us on your progress man! Email me bud maybe we can chat.
I'm NOT quitting.
Did you have it in dreadlocks at one point? or is it natrualy like that, it looks sorta cool
but man, i envy you for getting out of that stage ;p congrats, you look happy ;p
No, I never had dreadlocks, although that *was* the primary reason I wanted to grow my hair out. After a while, I realized I liked what my hair has turned into, so I decided to keep it that way. It's naturally curly, but luckily, not poofy. Whew!
very nice :)
Looks good man! A little envious here though. Thanks for the encouragement.
You look fantastic man! Keep it growing!!

Great looking hair guy, it suits you well. TomS
I just realized yesterday's pic wasn't too flattering :P, so here's a better one. Thanks for all the responses! Good Luck in growing it out. Just for the record, I''ve been going to this board since my hair was a mere six months.
Unfortunately my hair is curly and poofy as heck. In this second pic
do you have something on your hair or not? If yes, may I ask what you
are using? Thanks and very cool hair man!
Ahhhhhhh I wish my hair was that long already... I HATE the A stage
wow, looks great! Can you tell us what shampoo/conditioner you use, and what styling products, if any? Your hair looks really good, I am inspired... but I have a long way to go.
I just use any shampoo that cleans, really. The trick is to only get it only on your scalp so that it doesn't dry out the rest of my hair; the shampoo cleans the whole shaft when rinsed off anyways. I only shampoo my whole hair about once every two weeks to remove product buildup. To shampoo the scalp, just bend over so that your head is upside down. Have the hair on the part of the scalp you would like to shampoo hanging straight down so that it's easier to get your fingers through. So if you want to do the back of your head, lean straight back. Sides? Lean to the side. Although I use Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner (HARD to find;only at salons), Finesse is a very good drug store brand that I used to use. Rinse in cold water, squeeze, do not wring, the water out. Then BLOT hair dry, don't rub with a towel. Since I have curly hair, I have to put products on it after showering to keep from getting poofy hair. One important thing to remember is that curly haired people should use a leave in conditioner, then a styler (like gel). I use an imitation of Paul Mithcell's "The Cream" (from Sally's "Generic" Line :p) as a leave-in, then I use a product called "Funky Chunky" (From John Frieda's "Sheer Blonde" line. I'm not blonde, but it's sort of a "secret" product that I found out curly haired women use. You can get it from Walgreens). I apply these products in sections to make sure my whole hair is coated. After that, I air dry. Also curly hairs should never use a brush on their hair. They should finger-dtangle in the shower while they have conditioner on, then after that no more fiddling with the curl formation other than applying products. It's good to just leave curly hair alone :p. Sorry for the lengthy comment. As you can see, I do a lot just to get my hair loooking this way, but as a guy trying to hang on to his masculinity, I don't go oeverboard like some of the women I've seen do. Trust me, it get's more tedious than that, hehe.
P.S. If you've got straight or wavy hair and don't need or care about curl formation, but have "dry" looking hair, then you should buy a product called "Abba Nourishing." It's a leave in condiotioner that you use post-shower. It'll get your hair looking good and healthy. I think I saw it at Albertsons. It's in a gold bottle. Peace!
The moustashe and goatee look awesome. Yeah you are going to look even more awesome when it is longer.
Haha, thanks. I went to look for a job the next day so I cut it off. I've been looking for a job lately, otherise I'd have a full blown goatee. I like the look too!
Any problems looking for a job man? Do you tie your hair back for interviews? Do you have a pic with your hair tied back? What field are you looking to work in? Would give you a chance if I was hiring. Help out a fellow longhair!
I live in Vegas, and my current occpation at the moment is... bartending! I think my hair would actually help, especially if I slick it back in a ponytail while looking for a job. I think long hair is a good hairstyle for bartender jobs! Stereotypical, but who cares hehe. I'll try to put up a picture sometime soon.
