OK, so Tom Hanks' hair wasn't really long in the Davinci Code, but why do the pundits have to be so d*mn*d pleased that he cut it before Angels & Demons? We seem to be getting more acceptance from the general public but less from the bl**dy media! Why?
It's a conspiracy, the media is controlled by illuminated, a bunch of super rich bankers who are so bald that they glow like a 40 watt bulb.
We are still a small minority and thus that narrow mindset will still persist in the media as well as society in general.
Sigh
Kevin
The main thing to remember about the media is that they are desperate for a story to fill the air waves and the pages of papers and magazines. They don't care what they talk about as long as they think someone will listen. Anybody knows Tom Hanks' hair length is a non-issue really, but some reporter probably thought it would stir up things a little or appeal to some segment of the new-consuming public. At least 75% of what passes for news is sensationalism and hype and ridiculous portrayals of everyday events that aren't news but have only come to seem like it as we grow ever more immune yet accustomed to the crap that the media spouts out through "exposes" and trash TV.
I have heard that a wise man speaks when he has something to say, but a foolish man speaks because he has to say something. No, I'm not saying that the media people are foolish, but they have to say something or they don't get paid. I mean, look at the papers, does anyone care about all the "news" in there?
Nice way to put it, I agree with you.
Since a few months I stopped wasting my time reading the newspaper or watching the news on tv. I'd rather read a book instead.
Granted back in Brinkly and Huntley's day it probably would not be mentioned but now we have 24 hour news so not only do they have to say something to get paid they have to babble on 24 hours a day.
Funny you mention this yesterday one of my colleagues commented on the radio they talked for two hours about Michael Jackson's demise.
We're doomed...
Kevin
They make nice biscuits (cookies) as well. I presume there is alot of weeping on the lower west side!

It's sad really. As soon as the poor man died, the media was blitzing the airwaves and the internet. The same thing with Farrah Fawcett. It seems wrong to drag out so much information and a dishonor to either person -- just let them rest now, they deserve it.
"Television coverage of Iran's turmoil has fallen since Jackson's death Thursday; on the Twitter micro-blogging site, Iran remained among the most discussed topics, but fell below Jackson and comments about the movie "Transformers 2.""
This above quote is from an AP news story I just read. This is an example of what I am talking about.
I agree completely.
Likewise, Harry F***ing Potter, whose hair was not really that long has it hacked off to an unsightly degree in the last two movies and he looks like a dick. But all the other characters are true longhairs, what the hell are the producers thinking?
The TV show "raising the bar" central character has chopped off his "awkward stage" locks. Now the show seems a lot less interesting. I will not watch it, it just don't work. My bet is that this show has jumped the shark.
The 2nd "Twilight" movie has the Native American character sporting hair above his ears when in the first one he had hair halfway down his back. Idiots, why are they so stupid? My wife was seriously disappointed.
I believe we should speak up anytime we see this crap just to let the producers know that everybody don't want to see a bunch of haircuts. Unfortunately what I've witnesses is an apathetic attitude, "it won't do any good." That's bulls**t, speak up, post something on their web sight at least people.
