...that can be said about him. He WAS a longhair. And all his kid are too. The youngest (7 yo 'Blanket') has waistlength, the older boy's is just below his shoulders. Daughter Paris has mid-back length. I hope his family respects his wishes to allow the boys to have long hair. Blanket is adorable, and the two mothered by Debbie Rowe are attractive children. Michael straightened and dyed his hair, so it never got to extraordinary lengths; but it hovered between shoulder and mid-back. He apparently favored it for himself, and his children as well. I feel bad for his kids, and I wish the news media would kindly get back to reporting real news, and leave the MJ fodder for the entertainment rags. Just my 2¢! ☺
"Well, there is one good thing that can be said about him."
What's that supposed to mean?
Peter
Well most people would know Michael Jackson as the world's most famous alleged paedophile and that hasn't gone away. The guy did have undoubtedly great musical & dancing talent but they fact that he actually paid $23 million to one of his alleged victims families rather then go to court for me at least indicated his guilt. If trully innocent why would you pay that sum of money to an accuser? That has left a taint on him and his musical legacy. So his having long hair was one good point in that he helped pave the way for long hair to be worn by males via media publicity.
Duncan
Michael Jackson became the poster child for bizarre. as Duncan said he did have talent and a good thing going in the 80's then it went South fast. You are right Carol he was a longhair and his kids have longhair.
Kevin
I thought it was quite obvious!
Thanks for Duncan and Kevin for enlightening us :-)
Cheers,

I'll add that having a very well known celebrity like Michael sporting longhair makes him put that fact right in peoples faces.Yes,his behavior was strange but he is one of the few who put longhair for guys on the map.
Mark
Saved me from having to explain.
Ignore him Carol, Peter sounds like the type of guy that wants a fight when you accidentally bump into him in a bar.

I agree Yay with the long hair and music.
But i just wish people would get over themselves
i mean people on sites everywhere the rubbish their
saying. "I'll miss you so much micheal, i'll see you
in heaven" Its like What?? If you were a fan good for you
He'll be in your life just like he always has. Listen to
his music watch his videos and Hay Presto, its the same as
always. Its not like his fans spoke on the phone with him everyday. He was 50 which is a bonus considering young people dieing all over the place, and he had a load of money and had great experiences. Some kids will live in S@*t and die before they even loose there virginity.
So thats life, people Die get ready!!
By the way this isn't aimed at anyone on here. Just these delusional fans on places like youtube.
if you don't like it, don't pay attention to it
it's great you don't care but there are people who do
I mean if I wanted to be a real jerk I'd wait for someone you care about to die and say
GET OVER IT
just because people never knew him on a personal level doesn't mean they aren't allowed to care
Personally I was looking forward to his UK tour and possible future albums.
There will never be anyone in music to make as great of an impact as he did.
it put CZ automatically and I didn't notice
Agreed!
Basically I think he was a good guy, whose heart was in the right place but whose worldview was so distorted by being thrust into fame as a young child that he came off as weird. Combine that with having billions of dollars and he becomes an easy target for false accusations and lawsuits.
He was not "caught in bed" with anybody. He held a slumber party for some sick children and some greedy and desperate parents hatched a plan to squeeze money out of him. There was never any proof that he molested anyone, he was aquitted, and I think it's disgusting that people would automatically assume it to be true and judge him that way. All he ever did was help the children he came into contact with, and he paid the price because ignorant people are always sniffing for a scandal.
I here what your saying but you obviously don't know me.
If i hero of mine died i'd celebrate his life not mourn his
death, its obvioulsy different for a family of friend as you have a bond from them being a companion. It just grates me all these people carrying on like he was a friend next door. Celebrate his life get a few beers and break out an old record.
True True. But, you have to remember that people cope with others deaths differently. A big idol to them has died and when that person was a big part of your life even if indirectly and through music... everyone reacts differently...
but, yeah I see what you're sayin'. Celebrating someone for when they were alive.
"Speak nothing but good..." and all, but boy, I hope you're wrong. (Unless it's someone worse, of course.) ;-P Actually, I wonder. *Thriller* is a quarter-century old now, and none of his work was nearly as popular as that. I don't know if MJ's impact equals that of, say, the Beatles or Stones. I suppose it's close, at least WRT what's being made right now. It's a big world out there...

I get your point. There has always been the cult of the dead celebrity icon. People get really irrational when certain popular celebrities pass on. I personally don't get the histrionics, but then again, I don't engage in celebrity worship. Let'em unload on Youtube, if they wish. I just won't read.
But when I turn on the news, I want to hear about 'REAL NEWS', and not MJMJMJMJMJMJ for most of the newcast. With all that it is going on, both locally and internationally, this is all the newcasters can show? And like Anna Nicole, we will be subject to this for weeks to come, while awaiting the toxicology reports. (sigh)
MJ did contribute to the longhair cause. I respect him for that and his enormous talents, and his charitable work. I just don't worship him the way many do. He was a very troubled soul, his suffering is now over. I prefer to remember the handsome young man behind the "Off the Wall" "Thriller" and "Bad" albums. Before his life went on the downward spiral that it did.
same with billy mays, it was big but he did have a beard among the shaved rest of tv.
...what the hell is happening with all these stars in 2009
Angel firmly believes that celebs die in threes. I goof on her about it but more often than not she's right.
This time it's four, (well, four if you count Billy Mays).
Michael Jackson
Farrah Fawcett
Billy Mays
Ed McMahon
The one that upset me most is Ed. Now I know for sure he's never going to knock on my door with any money from Publishers Clearing House. *sigh*
