Hey guys
I don't know if anyone remembers me.. I used to post often here until about November 2008. I don't really recognize a lot of the posters on the main page... maybe some of you are new, in that case welcome to this board :).
I'm posting this thread to show you all my hair progress taken 2 years from when I started growing my hair out. Obviously it's been tampered with - in the first 4 months of growing I got regular trims because that's what I knew at the time, and about 5 months ago I had to get 3 inches (or more) cut off from the back because I had a lot of split, dry, tangled ends that had to go. Since then I brush my hair every time that I wash it and it seems better now.. though comparing to many people here, most people at 18 months are now ahead of me at 24.
Here are the pics:

I hope you enjoy them.
It's been a very long, dragging and depressing 2 years since I started to grow out my hair. The update photos you took are how it looks when it's most controlled. The everyday look is extremely different - it looks shorter than how it looked at 14 months.
Keep it up everyone!
There are some really nice heads of here around here.
Shawn
Hi Shawn,
Thanks for sharing your latest update and wow what a beautiful head of curly longhair you have and you should be very proud of you growing so far. It's certainly very thick and wavy. Well it may have been a long road for the past 2 years but it should be alot easier now and you really happy in one the photo's.
Well done and keep it growing and great to see another inspirational head of hair.
Cheers,
John.B
Shawn, your hair looks fantastic! It definitely suits you, and the curls rock!
Congrats!
Jeremy (another curly-haired guy)
Great work Shypii90, awesome head of curls, try not to trim though unless its completely necessary.
cheers Dave
Hey Shawn !
Wow, what a great head of hair you have there !!! I'm also curly-haired(almost as curly as yours) and I'm at the 13th month and your progress is a true inspiration.
You may have done some trimming in the past, but you've really achieved some great lenght for only 2 years. I think you should really be proud of your progress. Your hair looks Fantastic !
Keep up the good work(and keep it away from scissors)
Luben

Shawn,
You've certainly made a lot of progress over the last two years. I'm at the quarter-mark myself (about 6 months) and anticipate a similar path of progress - I have very curly hair whose length doesn't show and that requires a lot of maintenance.
It is very encouraging to see the end result - you've got healthy & good head of hair. I hope that the frustrations stay in the past. Thank you for posting your progress.

Shawn,
If you don't mind sharing, where was that last photo (above) taken?

Shawn's profile says he lives in Malta,
My guess is he was there.
Kevin
Yes that's right, in Malta, a tiny sub-tropical island in the Mediterranean sea (between mainland Europe and Africa).
Hi Shawn,
Thank you for sharing your truly outstanding update with us, and you are blessed with the most awesome thick and healthy curls. Growing curly hair can be a frustrating and long road, but the rewards are well worth it!
Keep it growing,
David
Awsome progress...it's good to see that for curly hair once it reaches certain length, the hair weight pulls the fro down
have you tried a ponytail yet?
keep it growing
Yeah I usually keep it up in a ponytail since Summer here is so hot... or else I keep it under a buff especially if I'm having a bad hair day.
Brilliant update! Your mane is looking amazing and I see it starting to relax nearer the scalp as the weight pulls on it.
I'm sure you've been waiting for this to start happening. When you pull it into a tail you'll have a straight bit and the tail will be curly / bushy. I always thought that was a cool look.
Glad to see your post.
Kevin
Your hair is looking really good.
Hi. You have lots of curly hair. By the way, my hair grows similar to yours, although mine is a bit straighter. It is curly enough for my hair to form a pyramid-shape. It takes time to grow out curly hair, since a lot of length is incorporated into curls. My hair also had a similar issue. But on the other hand, I am attracted to curly hair. I hoped that you remember me. Back then, I went by on the board as Regardless.
Matthew
Yes, of course I remember you! I noticed from your avatar that your hair grew a lot since the last time I was here. Keep it up :)
You've made good progress in the past two years Shawn! You have to have the patience of a saint to grow long curly hair, but the rewards are worth it.
Keep it growin'
Bruce

Your hair looks fantastic, Shawn. It is thick and full and appears to be in great condition. In another year it will be really long. Do keep growing it.
Scott
I like the curly look Shawn, very nice. Keep up the good work.
Looks great Shawn, lots of curls and in great condition too. Nice progress
Looking fantastic Shawn!
Love the curls. Congrats on two years!
