Hey People...been away for about a month and I just wanted to let everyone know that as of about a week ago my hair is now short again after over three years. No long story here except to say that I got it cut for all the right reasons for myself and I'm happy about it. The thing that I will miss the most is the comraderie of the people on this site.
I will continue to check in on your progress. I want to thank everyone for all the encouraging words and kind thoughts these past few years.

To me, the important part is that you're happy with your situation. It's your head, so what anyone else (me included) thinks is pretty much irrelevant.

I was curious as to why I have not "seeing" you around the board. I know what you mean when you say "for the right reasons"-I did the same. However, this board really enjoyed your visits and comments and it would be nice for you to hang around. Feel free to post your new look.

Hey VJ, thanks very much. I was not around the past month because I was back east on vacation visiting my family...was gone for a month. However, been thinking about the hair cut for a few months.
I am definitely sticking around because I love this group and I want to keep myself apprised of people's progress. Don't know if I will show my new look since this is a motivational site for longhairedness. Perhaps I will let whomever is interested know what my myspace profile is once I get a new pic up on that.

Remember that you are always welcome in our community, and please do stop on by to say hi from time to time. You have always been a genuine friend, always showing concern for Tammy after her surgery. Hi David, yes Max is clipped...but it was the correct decision for me...not arrived at impulsively and it is right for me at this time. Can't rule out trying again down the road...we shall see but it's comforting to know that such a fine group such as this is here.
Would love to meet you and Tammy sometime in the future and thanks so much for the kind words and offers of encouragement all this time. Would be an honor to meet you as well. For now take care and I will be checking in on everybody in the future. You are not rid of me!

Hey Jason, yes I know it was a surprise to most...but I was thinking about it for a few months at least so it was a decision that was anything but impulsive. I thank you for your prior support. Just wish my hair quality was better, that was part of it. I will be checking in now and then to see how everyones doing. Pre-congrats on your upcoming wedding whenever that is.

Well, as long as you feel fine, who is anyone to ob ject? Renouncing something as specific and hard-to-acquire as long hair always gives me a twinge of sadness though.

Hey Duncan, thanks very much for your nice words. I WILL remain a longhair at heart and I love to see people with long flowing locks both male and female. One of the reasons I got it cut was that I was not happy with the overall quality...genetics and age I think are not on my side, but it was a blast most of the time and I will forever be grateful for you and others for all the encouragement, etc.
I WILL continue to check in and add my few cents worth, so I'm still around.

Hi Max I must admit I did a similar thing about two years ago. There is great cameraderie on this board. It's good you're happy with your decision and hope it was made for the right reasons.

Damn Max! Clipped? At first I thought you meant... well never mind.
I would have posted sooner but I was so upset when I read this that I bit the keyboard... and continued to gnaw on the corners of the computer until Angel came in a hit me with a stick to make me let go. Sorta lost it for a few, hate it when that happens.
Well hell Max, I hope we do stay in touch. I guess I'll just have to add you to my list of short haired friends. I ain't happy about it but I won't hold it against you. Lol.

Hi Max, I thought you would be the last person to consider cutting. You must have had a good reason to do it. Despite cutting it, I still want to keep in touch with you. Hopefully you will be happy with it short.
I know one thing, I have been growing mine since 1992 and it is very unlikely I will ever cut it.

Well, I'd be lying if I didn't admit to being a bit sad reading this; but, more importantly, I'm happy that you cut for all the right reasons, --- and that you are happy with having done so!
To me, this place is all about supporting each other in whatever hair length and style makes us individually our happiest and feeling our best. For me to give another person a hard time for cutting off their own hair would be just as bad as when shorthairs in society give a longhair a hard time for having the length they like to have on their own head! The fact that YOU are happy is all that matters!
In addition, it's ultimately all about what's on the INSIDE of someone's heart that makes the person special, anyway, --- and Max, as far as I can tell, I think that part of you will always remain true gold!

Yes, I too hope we can meet up at some point in the future and I find it difficult to believe that I won't be part of this forum in some form or another because I still LOVE long hair on most people.and I am constantly noticing it...that's the way it will always be for me I guess. But like you said, I am happy and that's what counts.
