that was annoying and you could get rid of that comes with long hair what would it be?
for me it would be these little "tumbleweeds" of tangled hair that I find all over my house, always when im busy doing something else and I don't want to take the time and throw it away. They're even more annoying when they get wrapped around something like a nail or screw and you have to pull em off.
So what annoys you guys the most??
Yes, I hate the "tumbleweeds"! Lol
Other than that, the occasional "Bad Hair Day". That's all.
Paul
I'm still in the awkward stage, so the one thing I would want to change about that is my bangs/fringe tendency to frizz. I'll have to wait to be able to authentically gripe about the perils of long hair.
Definitely stepping/sitting/rolling over on it, then yanking it.
--------------------------------------
Been there, done that. It hurts for sure. Sitting on it is my biggest problem. I always push it out of the way when I sit down.
Murphy's Law states that when getting up from sitting on the ground, your hand (or a foot) will be on top of the ends of your hair as you rise.
Scott
on this note, what do you do with your hair when you sleep. I've gone between loose, panytail, and braid to sleep in the past month to try and see which is more comfortable. what do you all do.
-------------------------------------------------
I use multiple hair bands on my hair and move my hair the other side from the one that I am sleeping on. I keep the hair bands on my hair nearly all the time even when not sleeping. This has protected my hair which is fragile and breakage prone. Without them, I would have never been able to achieve such great length.
Scott
Great length indeed. I hate how slow hair is, shouldn't we have evolved to control how fast it grows by now? LOL
just noticed your "necklace" in your avatar. Wish i could do that.

I too, have found that Scott's suggestion of multiple hair bands works best for me.
Here's a shot from May 2009.

It is almost a guarantee that you will gain an addtiional 6 inches of length by protecting it this way, Oren. You may even gain a foot. Looking good, do keep growing it for sure. Best wishes.
Scott

My hair too is prone to breakage and split ends being of the fine texture. I will wear hair bands when it is longer.
Duncan
my hair is the same way, ive spent the last couple days like 10-15 minutes a day cutting splits (i think there all gone now) And I'm sticking to water washes for a little bit because the ends are dry too
unfortunately for the first year and a half or so i was washing it every day and dried and split the ends bad, but they're getting better so i know not to make that mistake again.
I'm not much of a tosser and turner...so I just lay it out on the pillow above and next to me and it stays there. If it isn't tangled when I go to bed, it isn't tangled when I wake up!
Also my hair is fairly coarse and sturdy.
Lucky you! I'm a very restless sleeper and usually wake up with my braid wrapped around my neck. It's not long enough to strangle me yet, but maybe one day... :¬)
Having it yanked by door handles or similar stuff...
---------------------------------------------
happened to me as well. This door knob has claimed maybe 20 strands of my hair over the years. I am very careful around it now. It is on my bathroom door. Door knobs need to be made long hair friendly. Most are not.
Scott
Hi Scott,
That looks like serious "mane-bane".
If it is doable, I'd install a newer doorknob. Most of the newer ones will surely have fewer "snag points" than on the one pictured.
- Oren
Those single strands that snag in your toes when you walk barefoot.
Heat! My hair it thick, and I have to keep lifting it all the time to let the trapped heat out.
Other than that, the occasional times when I end up eating it.
------------------------------------------------
I have a problem with individual beard hair strands getting a knot in them. I have no idea how single strand knots happen. Normally knots involve multiple hair strands. Hair breakage usually occurs at the knot. Some of my beard hairs are over 12 inches long. The longest one is 15 inches.
Scott
I get single strand beard hair knots too, usually several per day. Unless the knot has been pulled too tight, I usually take them out using a large sewing needle. Since both my sideburn and goatee hairs are over 20-inches long, I can untie most of the knots without using a mirror. I haven't noticed any breakage of hairs caused by the knots, though I'm sure it occasionally happens. Since Oren continues to force me to grow this ridiculous 'stache untrimmed (grin), I'm starting to see knots in 'stache hairs also.
(n/t) (no seriously, n/t) (Just click the back button) (Yeah, that one)
I'd either go with split ends
or
the people who don't give you a chance because you have long hair
Frizzies!
Why can't those short hairs grow in in straight line?
It's like I have pubic hairs growing from the top of my head!!
Bruce
...so its like having short hair (that should be added to pauls list below)
I don't like shedding. Most of the time I can handle it getting caught on things. I usually just laugh it off.
Oh yes the once weekly tumblehair that blows across the living room and the poor clogged up hoover as well! I'd rather vaccum them up myself than leave then one some floor...eh trimmers!
Cheers,
John.B
Getting hair caught in the fasteners of clothing, be it hook-and-eye, buttons, snaps, frogs, buckles, etc. If hair happens to be hanging in the direction of the fastener, it either catches on, or winds around, it. I have had a few encounters of having to unravel a strand or two from a fastener. A windy day with hair loose and a button-down henley are a classic combination for wound strands.
Velcro.
I've got a waterproof with Velcro fastenings which has snagged so many hairs that I hate having to wear it.
Babies grabbing it when you pick them up. Always put your hair up before you get close to the child!
Paul
Once I was helping my friend's three-year-old put on a pair of shoes, and he grabbed my hair to keep from falling backwards. I didn't mind as he didn't pull too hard and it probably kept him from hitting his head on the floor.
That doesn't bother me, but then with me it's a braid they are pulling on, not just a few strands.
Daniel
Very little annoys me with long hair. I did have an issue with my dad about me growing out my hair, since it appears messy but a lot less often now. However, no one else said a complaint. What I want to get rid of is knots in my hair which makes my hair harder to brush or comb.
Matthew

I hope I can help with the knots. Ponytailing your hair during sleep may help. Jojoba oil may help a bit too. Are your knots near your head or near the ends? Also be sure to use enough conditioner when you wash your hair. You want to rinse maybe 90% of it out but not all of it out.
Scott
Cleaning out the drain in the bathtub. Often. Yuck.
