I made an appointment for noon, tomorrow, at Salon Designs! I've got about 2-3 inches of split ends that need to go. Here's a before pic.
Ok, so the pic doesn't want to load... hmm.... oh, well...
The link is the url for the before pic. Here's the url for the view from the front (for Mr. Extreme Sarcasm (aka Oh, Please): http://www.lips.net/~jarnsaxa/nyghtfall/matt004.gif.
Enjoy!
You're welcome! :)
Don't worry, I won't. My basic instruction's going to be, "Trim the split ends and leave as much length as humanly possible."
You're a gorgeous guy with fabulous hair. I agree, though, the ends of your hair need to be trimmed. A guy I know who has hair about the length of yours (maybe even a little longer) just got about 3 inches cut off so the ends are even all the way around. What an amazing difference it made! He had great hair before; now it magnificent. It all hangs so much better now that the ends are even.
Be sure to part it in the middle when it's cut, though, or one side will be longer than the other.
I'm looking forward to the "after" picture.
I'm feeling the same thing as I type this. My hair felt great before. Now it feels even better!
No problem. The stylist knew to do that without me having to tell her. :)
They will be coming forthwith. Look for them sometime next week.
cool! glad it turned out well.
waiting with bated breath (why I'm eating bait, I have no idea... :)
Please don't cut your hair.
Sometimes I remove split ends one at a time. I sit by a good light source, take a little of my hair at a time and search through it for split ends. When I find a split end, I cut or bite off only the split end. This leaves the rest of the hair as long as possible.
I appreciate the sentiment, but I'm a great deal more comfortable letting professionals do it. Besides, this particular salon's marketing slogan is "The Long Hair Specialists," so I'm confident they'll be able to do a good job.
ROFL. Now that someone else has broken the ice, I can admit also that I use this technique to rid myself of split ends, but only in my beard. Biting, however, is not a good technique, since it smashes the hair, fraying the very tip, thus encouraging even more splits. Better is to cut it with sharp scissors.
Thanks for the suggestions to use scissors.
Besides smashing the very tip of the hair, another drawback of biting off the split ends is that many split ends accumulate in my mouth!
Swallowing can also be a problem, particularly if there is some considerable length that's being swallowed. There have been several human cases involving hair balls in the stomach. For a quick reference, of course, I can point to cats. For some reason, which I don't really understand, hair does not pass through the gut readily, but gets wadded up somewhere.
