Hey everyone. Just hit the 15 month mark after my buzz cut in April of 2008. Here are some pictures of my curly hair after a water wash and some finger combing.
My hair in the front when pulled straight reaches just under my chin. I think the back reacher between the shoulder blades straight... Curly and dry the front is around nose level and back past the shoulders... ah the joys of growing curly long hair :)

Those are some awesome curly locks you have there, Adam! Keep them growing for sure! If your hair's looking this good at 15 months, just imagine how amazing it'll look at 24 months and beyond.

Great hair Adam. I wish my hair was more like yours, it's too straight and i get bored with it. Atleast I can put it in a braid for a little and get some waves out of it though.
Thanks a lot Jarvis. I actually honestly envy straight haired people because I thought I had straight hair before growing out and that's what I was hoping for! I love my curls now though the longer it gets.

I am absolutely convinced that water wash only is the way to go, and your updates are evidence of that. That is some healthy looking hair you have there. I'm about seven months behind you with dark curly hair of mine own. Hope mine is as long as yours is by the time I reach the 15 month mark.
I agree. The longer my hair has gotten the longer I go without shampoo/conditioner.
I love water only washes but I do have to wash everyday or else I get oily/dandruffy. I have to scrub my scalp and finger comb softly in the shower to get all the extra oil out/ distribute it through my hair.
I'm betting your hair will look awesome at 15 months, just keep growing with no trims for a long while for now.

I've been following your updates since the 12th month and all I can say is WOW. What a huge difference and fantastic progress you made for only 3 months !!! I'm also curly-haired and I'm at the 13th month right now and I'm curious about your hair routine. How often do you shampoo ? I almost cut down shampooing, cause I found out that it makes my hair really frizzy, even when I haven't used it for a week. So basicly when I shampoo I just put a tiny bit of it on the roots only once a week.
Anyways, thanks for this inspirational update and I'm really looking forward for the next ones !

I haven't shampood for about 2 weeks now. I usually shampoo whenever it gets waaaay too oily/dandruffy ifit doesn't get better with water washes. I try to stay water wash only and the longer my hair gets the more I go without products..
I'm probably going to shampoo just monthly now... probably condition once every week or two...
You should definately update when you reach 14 months, it would be awesome.
By the way, Luben. I only fingercomb... don't let the comb in the background of my pic fool you haha. I haven't used that comb since I hit 8 months...
Combing/brushing, to me, causes way too much breakage.
Lol yeah I also haven't used a comb since the 8-9 month.And I agree completely. It DOES cause breakage and it also ruins the curls(at least mine). And I, just like you wanted straight hair, and even used to straighten it last year, but luckily I quit and sold that stupid flat iron and also did a little trim(January this year). Now I'm happy I learned to enjoy my curls. And I'm definately thinking about sharing a picture of 14months growth.
Your hair looks gorgeous, Adam. Curls tend to hide length. Keep growing it. With twice your current length it will look three times as long due to graviy stretching it out. The best is yet to come.

Thanks! my goal is waist length with my hair all at one length. Might go longer when I get there. We will see.
