I've been growing out my hair for about 5-6 months, it doesn't look long at all yet, just big. Sometimes it's dry, sometimes oily, usually frizzy... it just sucks. But I have one major problem, lets just say I run my hand through my hair from the back to the front, or from the sides inward.. it does not fall back down but actually stays that way. I hate that so much (same thing when the wind hits it) It is so damn embarassing having people come up to me and hit my hair just to get a good laugh at how it looks afterwards. I don't know much about hair terms, but what exactly does my hair need (aka more volume, less volume... and what is volume anyways?) I don't really know my hair type. I have no clue how to tell if it is thick or thin, I have had a buzzcut most of my life so I don't know anything about types of hair etc.
Would be happy to give you a professional analysis (see: www.BRGallagher.com) if you would email me photos showing your hair from a couple of different angles (front, back, sides, etc.)
You could try washing with shampoo less often. Maybe if you let some of the oils build up in your hair it will hang better. Or you could get it relaxed.
