Hey guys!
Some of you here know me, but for those who don't, you can check out my intro and see a pic of my hair a little ways down the page. Anyways, I have a question about blow dryers.
I have been reading the articles on this site about being a longhair and how to care for longhair, and it says that blow dryers can damage the hair over time.
Recently, I started sitting in front of a fan to dry my hair, which works pretty well, and doesn't damage hair, but it is time consuming. However, I have been pondering using a blow dryer once the school year starts, as I don't have a lot of time to get ready, and I want to dry my hair quickly, but I don't want to damage it.
Sorry, I know this post is long, but I would like to hear your guys opinion on this. Any comments and suggestions are much appreciated.
Luke.
Ill normaly Just pat my Hair with a towl in the morning to get it to stop Driping and then on my Way to Classes ill Drive with my Window Half Way down and the little amount of Wind that comes threw will mostly Dry it before i get to Class although Still a little Damp
I wouldn't even use the towel, myself. I find letting it airdry or using wind is best. It might be a bit damp in the first hour or so after arriving at work/school, but it doesn't look too bad.
I never blow dry or towel dry my hair, if i shower in the morning shortly before i need to go somewhere i often simply sit in front of the fan and turn it up to its maximum intensity to quickly dry my hair.
if i blow dry or dry my hair with a towel or any other fabric it tends to get frizzy, but with this method i have not had a problem with frizz.
If frizz is not really a problem for you then towel patting would probably do a better job than sitting in front of the fan however.
I just push the towel against my head without rubbing my hair.
Just let the towel suck up the water.
After that I just let it air dry, most of the time in a tail.
I can take a lot of hours before it's dry but I don't care.
My hair looks best if I let it air dry.

a safe distance is probably alright. You can see that my head is a good distance from the hair dryer. I have been doing this for many years. I do air dry when when weather conditions allow for it. In the colder months I nearly always use the blow dryer on my knee length mane.
