Hello Guys its been a long long time since I manage to post!
but thought Id share with you, Basiclly I grew my hair out from a no2 buzz cut, to mid back in about 4-5 years, I've had 3 trims in the past 6 years, the most drastic was about a year or so ago, I went to just long enough to get my hair in a tail, was the shortest my hairs been for ages. Anyway every now and then I get times i think about cutting, but they always pass after a few days, this time Its been well over a week and I feel im gonna go for it, I know alot will say I shouldnt, but you know you get to that point in your life you just fancy something abit different, My journey from buzz cut to long hair was great, I was a roadie for a black sabbath tribute band, I really fitted in with the typical look of a rocker, Long hair tattoos, Now i just feel more grown up, Ive changed alot, became a christian about a year and half ago, hairs never been an issue, I think I just wanna say look, i did what i wanted, suprised everyone, became a wannabe rockstar, looked the part, now i wanna shock again, go modern and see how i feel, I might hate it! then again it might be Me!
Im considering a no3 back and sides and longer on top so i can just Gel it and have the messed up look, at the mo my hair is just past the shoulders. Just intersted I guess in what others have to say. Im also a builder its been tough with long hair, but ive kept with it with all the dust/paint etc so thats never been an issue either, Ive seen a lot of wrestlers Go short that have had long hair for ages, Christian,Test(Rip),kevin nash, chris jericho etc, also footballer David beckham, I feel these guys all pulled it off, hope I do too.
Just want to thank all the guys that know me, that have given me great support over the years, Thank you! Especially TLH! Terry think the world of you dude! never for get chatting to you all those years ago!
and all the new guys! Grow you hair out! beleive me the time flys you'll pass that awkward stage before you know , its worth the wait! beleive me I did it, i got there, good luck to you all.God Bless you's! <><
Ozzy
Hi Ozzy,
Well at the end of the day it's your hair and you have to do what is best for yourself at different times of life. I've never been one to "fit in" and just done what I wanted in life from shaved sides and back and quiff to longhair but I'm happy with it. As you know we are a very open and welcoming community here and don't a strange my friend. The lord giveth and the lord taketh away.
Cheers,
John.B
Hi Again Guys! Something did trouble me with my post, It was the way I worded "Ive grown up" I didnt mean that in the way it sounds, I was talking about me personally in ways i couldnt really describe, Long hair was something I'd wanted since i could remember, my fave muscians, genre of music, even wrestlers all had real cool long hair, years Ago my relationship broke up, I wanted a new me, a new start, so I started getting the Tattoos, and growing my hair out, I love it, still do, wouldnt change it for the world, but for me ive changed so much in my life, this to me Seemed like something I needed to do, a feeling i could never describe, so Im not saying Grow up in the way it sounds, ive changed, my hearts changed, its all part of living, this was right for me now, i actually feel great, and it was a big big thing for me to do, everyone knows me by "The long haird guy" "the cool guy" response so far has been Good to my cut (I did do it) im really pleased, and happy, its like im now ready for another road, another chapter of what makes me who i am.
who knows in another time and place I'll have long hair again, but for now This is me.
I value all your comments, although I havnt been active on here as much i used too, i do often see whats what, your all a great bunch of guys, your suport for eachother is invalubale, i could never of grown my hair like i did without you lot.
you guys are an inspiration, theres some guys ive seen grow amazing hair! Oren, Jason ,Joao David to name a few
i would say though never cut your hair on a whim! really really think about it! and Just keep growing it, through all the dodgey days, its actually really worth it. Long hair was the best thing I did. if you do want to see a new pic, Id happily post it.
Good luck to all you on here. keeping doing what you do best, suport, encourage and be friends to others, this website has been an amazing place.
Ozzy
I, as many others, am new to this place and to longer hair than weve had before, and something you said, really marked me, paraphrasing it: I lived my time, I did what I wanted, now Im doing what I want to do now.... If you ask me, I think you have beautiful hair, my only regret is not asking you to ship it to me to see it i can glue it on, but what im really impressed at is the satisfaction you talk about your times and your wish to find new fun in new things, longhair, shorthair, thats the spirit I want to have myself and beleive me friend, about our personalities, we are not born with them, but grab a little bit from everyone we know and arrange them as we like, and I choose to keep that little bit you expressed there, for myself.. thanks for ur message and i hope to hear from you in the near future and hear how happy you are...
Hey Ozzy,
Good to hear from you. I guess some of us are born longhairs and others aren't. If you had a wife and kids to feed and the only way you could get a job was to cut your hair, that's one thing but you're entirely of your own volition going to cut. Of course, that's fine and your decision. I just think it separates your view of long hair from some of the rest of us here.
In any case, I wish you happiness.
Jason
Entirely agree Jason - hair is not meant to be cut - I certainly don't trim my arms or legs so why hair which equally is part of me!
Hey Ozzy, I've seen your old threads in the Archive, you have such pretty hair and it's a shame you're going to cut it...
But the important thing is that cutting your long mane will make you feel happy. A haircut can't change a person, you'll be the same, even with a short hairstyle! Plus, you don't need long hair to be a rockstar.
Congrats for the cool tattoos and the musical tastes. ;)
-Andrea
You know what? You've inspired me, it's time I grew up too. I think I'll get mine cut.
Hmmmm... :-/
On second thought... nah. I keep it.
Haw haw haw.
Later Ozz,
Paul
Good luck to you Ozzy, you've always been a valued member here, and I hope you don't become a stranger.
cheers Dave
Hey Ozzy,
Sorry to see you go the short haired route but you do what you want as others have done the same. It's certainly your life and it is a free country..I think.LOL.The one problem I have with your departing post was your reference to having short hair making you feel more grown up.I see nothing juvenile about wearing your hair long. That's one of the arguments that anti longhairs always bring up to get us to cut.So now you've just displayed that myth again.I guess since I've had longhair for over 25 years means I'm still a kid:)Well maybe so in mind that is.Anyway, don't feel I'm coming down hard on your decision but won't say I agree with it.So good luck in with whatever you do as I wish you the best my friend.Cheers
Mark
Maybe we are not juvenile Markie-babes, but know how to live life. I think many people who conform to society are dull and lacking personality. There is nothing more great than getting along to a metal gig, long hair flowing and just living the dream!! Yeahhhh!!
Hold on, maybe I am a kid LOL!! Great I love it :-))
~ Dave
Davie Babes you are the greatest! What would the world be like without
us rebel longhairs to keep things interesting:)I'm so proud to wear my
hair long and can't even imagine life without it.Cheers my good friend;)
Mark
Long may it continue my friend, long may it continue!!
I dont agree with what you going to do(or already did) I do realize its your life and I cant live for you but the best argument against is if God wanted you to have short hair it would grow no more than inch off your head. I didnt come up with it but I wish I had.
Mike
You're hair looks great, but if you need a change, do it for yourself, don't cut it because of Christianity. God doesn't look at appearance, he looks at the heart.
The Bible does not comdemn long haired men
The problem is that people pay attention to one part of the Bible passage and not read the other for example
1st Corinthians 11:14
Deth not even mature intself teach you , that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
They do not pay attention to verse 16 of the sme chapter
16 But if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the churches of God.
Otherwords God will not send you to hell for your long hair
Birdman
Congratulations Ozzy, you sound very happy.
Not everyone is a life long- longhair. Some try for a while, maybe for fashion or a trend (or maybe to buck a trend!) or some try it to please (or displease) others.
I have long hair because it makes me feel good inside. I did cut it in 2000, somewhat on a whim or maybe to try something different at the moment. But soon I was longing for long hair again. I suppose cutting it just showed me what I really wanted.
Good luck in life's journey.
Bruce
Ozzy - It has been a while!
I guess you gotta do watcha gotta do. :-)
Do stay in touch. I am on Facebook, too.
- Oren
if you wanna cut your hair do it for the same reason you grew it, because you wanted to and not to conform to anyone else ideals.
Nice hair but why is your mouth covered?
Birdman
My opinion for what it's worth (which is probably less than nothing) is he's protecting himself from the smile brigade. LOL
Daniel
As others have said it's your hair your life. I myself have fancied making changes but never cutting my hair but that's me.
I hope it works for you.
Do spare us the after pics as we would rather remember you as you were.
Cheers
Kevin
