Hi everyone, I just finished up a two week vacation around Florida and realized it was time to post an update. I spent nearly a week over on the east coast near the Melbourne/Cocoa Beach area and was very surprised at how few long hairs I saw there. Last time I grew out my hair they were all over, and with that area being one of the surf Meccas of the east coast I was kind of bummed to find almost nobody with hair past their chin. I only saw two guys with hair to (and past) their shoulders the whole time I was there, both of them were in their 40s. It seems buzzed hair is the new thing with the surf crowd there, shaggy at best.
I then came back home to the Tampa area and it was like night and day. I stopped by Ikea on the way home and must have seen at least 10 guys with long hair and I keep seeing them everywhere. It just struck me as strange that the more urban area would have a seemingly larger group of longhairs than the much more laid back and less developed area. Though I guess this area of the state is real big into the arts, not to mention the population difference is pretty large which may have something to do with the frequency at which I'm seeing long haired guys here.
As for the update, I'm seven months into my latest long hair endeavor and I'm enjoying it. Finally I can style my hair a little when I need to, or just keep tucking it under hats and bandannas when I don't. It was sort of annoying after surfing and driving around with the top off my jeep though, took forever to wash all the salt and sand out of it.

Ah it's good to be back home and amoung my own kind...lol
Yeah that is kinda interesting. Earlier this summer I took a trip to Virginia Beach and noticed that out in the town I saw several longhairs (well not compared to me, but they still had long hair...lol) but when I got out on the beach another longhair was a rare site. Not sure why that is but it struck me as odd. I was around that town and on the beach for a few days and it was always the same. Long hair around town and short hair on the beach.
