As I announced last week, today I finally got my hair dyed from red to black, wich is my natural color. I'm really happy with the result, I just hope the black won't fade away and look weird or anything like that. We'll see. Sorry about the fact my hair is tucked behind my ears but it was really messy since I kept it in a halftail the whole day. Sorry about the pose too, I couldn't help it. :D Hmm...it reminds me a bit of PPHX606. XD (Sorry, Chris, I'm not offending you or anything.)
What do you think of the result?
Now I'm ready for a long journey without dyes and such.
As you can see I'm also growing a beard, I started 2 months ago. I'm planning to grow it pretty long, enough for a little braid, if my facial hair's terminal lenght allows it. Does beard grows at the same speed of normal hair? I'm a total ignorant about facial hair.
-Andrea
looks great...keep away from the trims.
Ta,
John.B
Haha, no worries man. You convinced me enough. ;)
-Andrea
Hi Andrea. Your hair looks better in black than it did when it was red. Since black is your natural color, I don't see it fade over time. Your hair appears really neat and straight despite what you said otherwise. I remember seeing Bill (in the past) wear a beard braid.
Matthew
Thanks a bunch! :) Yes, it might not fade.
My hair is straight but it's a little uneven in the back cause of layers.
Yes, I remember Bill having his beard braided. :D Bear braids rulez!

in its natural colour. You look totally different. As for the beard, it varies from person to person. Your facial hair may be able to grow to 30 centimeters or more. You will have to wait and see. Teenagers tend to have fewer facial hairs per square centimeter of skin than adults. This probably does not affect terminal length. I am not totally sure, it is just a guess.
My head hair grows a bit faster than my facial hair. My facial hair grows about 11 mm per month, and my head hair maybe 13.
Scott
Thanks! Yes, for the beard i'll just wait and see. I haven't shave it since 20th of July. I only shaved moustaches and I keep shaving them every 4 days since I'm not a big fan of them.
-Andrea
Howdy Andrea, nice photo you put of yourself with the black hair. I must admit I like it better black as your natural color. Beard growth varies person to person. I never could grow a decent beard until I was into my 30s. Also now that you aren't dyeing your hair in the long run it will be much healthier.Have a good one.
Charlie
Yeah, I like my natural color more too. Thanks!
-Andrea
Wow, your hair came out really well Andrea! Fantastic!
As far as facial hair is concerned, I'm not sure. I haven't grown a beard for 30 years. If it's anything like my nose hairs then it'll grow twice as fast! Oh just wait till you get to the ole farts club!
Bruce
Thanks, Bruce! I like the result too.
For the beard I hope I can grow it well and nicely!
-Andrea
Looks great!
Thanks a lot! :D I personally like the result a lot too.
-Andrea
Looks great Andrea!
That will definitely ease the transition back to your natural black color.
Your beard start looks good, too.
My beard grows at about the same rate as my hair ~ 15mm per month.
- Oren
Thanks, Oren! Let's hope my beard will grow as fast as my hair too.
-Andrea
Need I say, the picture above is not showing my natural color. [grin]
Hey, Andrea, your hair in its natural color, and your beard, look great!
Typically, facial hair grows at about the same rate as scalp hair, but their terminal lengths may not be the same at all. The only way to find out what your terminal length is with both kinds of hair is to not trim any until you stop getting more length.
As for a beard braid, I've had mine braided for about 30 minutes total in my life, so I don't know much about beard braids. I did take a picture of it once and share it on here, and people here do mention it sometimes because of that, but really, I haven't had a beard braid much. I like both my beard and mane down.

Great photo !!
I see you are listed as a "newcomer" in the User Directory (grin).
Welcome back !!
Walter
Yeah, I needed a clean break from everything on the Internet, and after getting that, I found it much easier to sort out what mattered and what didn't. MLHH ended up on the "mattered" list, but I did realize it was time for me to move on in general when it came to management at social networking sites. The clean break period gave me time to get out of that mindset and just come back as a user. As such, my appearance here will be more sporadic, but that better fits what I'm doing with my life nowadays, which is spending a lot more time in that room with the giant blue ceiling (see above).
Bill
Thanks a lot, Bill!
Yes, I'm not going to shave anymore so we'll see how much I can grow beard. My last shave was the 20th of July. (Except for moustaches)
-Andrea
Hi Andrea.Your hair came out fantastic with bringing it back to black.I was skeptical at first when you mentioned it a while back but the results speak for themselves. Now is the easy part just letting your hair grow out longer and not altering anything. As for the beard it does look great on you.I only maintain fairly short facial hair as I never could get used to wearing it longer.Still each individual has their own preference and yours is ACE my friend:)Cheers and have a great weekend!
Mark
Thanks, Mark! Yeah, now i'm going to leave it alone.
About facial hair, I love long beards, expecially if braided, but I dislike moustaches. :)
-Andrea
Most bearded men do grow in their mustache hair, so without a mustache you will seem a bit unusual looking, like the Amish do. Do you know why you dislike mustaches?
Bill
Thanks for the infos, Bill!
Well, I just don't like the look of moustaches, at least on me. My dad had wonderful beard and moustaches, but his facial hair grew very fast and full.
I don't mind having the Amish look, I think it looks fine. I'll see if I can sport it well. :)
-Andrea
I love it :-)
That's good!
Looks much, much better!
H.
Hehe, I know! Thanks!
-Andrea
I actually think it looks good both ways, but I'm glad you're happy with your hair now. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, Brett!
Yes, for sure I like my hair a lot more now, but I'm still thinking if a trim on the bangs would make it look better, but I'm determined to wait until february and re-valutate.
-Andrea
Hi Andrea,
Your natural colour looks great, and your hair does not seem to have suffered any damage, so be sure to keep up the good work with the growing.
Your new beard is coming along very well too.
Keep everything growing,
David
Excellent! now your back to your old colour so you can just let it grow. Good luck with the beard.
Kevin
Yeah, that's right! Thanks a lot. :)
-Andrea
Andrea, your hair looks great! going black again was the right choice.
Mike
