My partner did one of these French braid things on me a few months ago, and I keep forgetting to share this pic of it. The strange twist at the end to me makes it look like a scorpion or some other scarey creature that crawls out from under rocks.
No, I did NOT wear my hair like this out in public!!! (I don't want to draw THAT much attention to my hair!)
Whenever he offers to do a braid for me, my usual request is: "OK, but please, just something simple; just a basic, ordinary-looking braid, --- nothing fancy!" He never listens to me.

PS - If you look real closely at my computer screen in this pic, you'll barely be able to make out that I'm looking at MLHH (lol)!!
That looks superb Ken, really, really good! It might get attention if you go out but I'm sure only the positive kind.
Hi Jason,
I much appreciate the kind comments! I suppose if there had been a special event of some kind that I was going to that day (a formal dance event or a wedding perhaps? But, only if i knew the couple and other members of their party well enough, I guess).
I'm normally not socially a very "shy" person (although I was as a kid); but, drawing extra attention to my hair by showing up in public with it looking that elaborate is not something that I like to do too often...
Maybe I'll, "get over it!", though (LOL)!!
Thanks again!

Here's another weird hair-do from the past; this pic being taken by myself back in '04. It's another pic that I don't remember ever sharing here, because a bit strange-looking. I think I was trying my best to make my hair look as close to "knee-length" at the time. (Yes, I know I know... Definitely I was "cheating" by lifting up my knee, as well as tilting my head down - LOL)
But, just think of it: the longer our hair gets, the more we can find an INFINITE # of styles that we are able to wear it (especially when compared to the limits of short hair)... just not always "presentable" styles that are appropriate for being out in public (LOL)!!

Ken !!
I have desert "hairy" scorpions all over the place, but your "stinger" is much more attractive than the real thing.
Seriously it looks fantastic.....I do not understand why you would not wear it in public....
Thanks for Sharing !
Walter
YIKES!!
but your "stinger" is much more attractive than the real thing.
Thanks you, --- and I'm glad to hear that!
Well, I don't know. I guess I just don't feel comfortable enough in that style yet.... We'll see if I ever get over it!
Thanks for your comments, Walter! Heading off to work now....

Wow if my hair looked that good I would wear it everyday everywhere I went. Tommie

Hi Ken,that's one fantastic braid as I think you should wear that out in public.Living in SF I would think there would be no problem going out onto the streets with that hairstyle.I suppose if you lived in a place such as Mississippi or other southern state you might not want to wear the braid out in public.I would think a guy like you would love the attention my friend:)Hope all is well with you btw.Cheers
Mark
THANK YOU!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!
This is Even,Ken's partner, the braider of the Scorpion braid. And I too, wear my hair like this occasionally, and YES out in public! I dont know why he thinks thhis looks so bad??And if I do say so myself, this was one of the best braids Ive ever done! but thank u for making me feel like Im NOT carzy!! hehehehe

Hi Even!
Wow, I'm honored having you personally respond to my post:)I think its the first time I've ever seen you comment here on mlhh.Your braid on Ken DOES look fantastic as you did an outstanding job.Personally I can't see it being so controversial if worn outdoors as I've seen much more radical hairstyles such as mohawks or spiked up hair!LOL.Maybe if you prod Ken a bit more he will cave in and be brave. If he does go outdoors with the braid make sure you snap a pic of him just for proof:)
I'm hoping to see Ken and maybe you too Even next month when I venture out to your neck of the woods.I'll be staying in HMB during the mid part of October. Thanks Even for writing:)Cheers
Mark

That French braid looks fantastic. Your partner is very talented, it looks perfect. This hair style would be great for a special occasion for sure.
Scott
With hair as Great as yours Ken, I think you could pull off any style in public and be complimented on it.
Frank
Hi Ken,
I think Even has done a great job on your hair and a great braid that's for sure. I certainly would not be worried about type of braid out in public if you got it faunt it :-) Go out in public and enjoy the attention and I'm sure alot of the folks on the lower west side would pay a great compliments. You have a very talented partner there, even if he does more than you ask for.
Cheers,
John.
Hi Ken,
I think that Even did an excellent job with your unique and cool braid, and I hope you do take the plunge and wear it in public some time!
Take care, and I hope all is well with you,
David
That French braid looks wonderful on you, Ken!
Well done Even!

It look absolutely fantastic, Ken. Great job Even.
Ken you really should wear that style out in public, it is nicely done but doesn't really draw alot of attention to your hair, but keeps it well under control (even with the most extreeme conditions)
Daniel
But is it poisonous?
