Since a few months, I visit the men's longhair website and I found inspiration for long hair. One of my favorites is the longhair website from Jason, a very good example to go for long hair. I tried two times to grow out my hair and I failed after three months. Now I decided again to go for long hair and since June, I didn't cut my hair. In June I had a classical short cut and now I am in my third month of hair growth. My first aim is shoulder length and afterwards I want to go beyond shoulder length. On the catwalk, I saw some beautiful longhair models for the next summer and that gave me a boost to try again for long hair. I would appreciate if I can get advice about the reactions of relatives and collegues. When did you get the first reactions about your hair growth and how did you react? What were your answers? I am now in my third month, when did I need a trim and how many times a week do you wash your hair? Thanks a lot for your feedback and I hope to become a great member of the board.
Welcome Vance,
Ignor them with a smile then politely decline their offers of free advice on hair styles for men.

Thanks a lot Bruce, a good advice to ignore the comments. I hope that I don't get comments, if there are comments I hope that these will be positive, if not I will answer them that short hair is not my cup of tea anymore and that I like long hair that in the future my hair will be very long!!!
Ive always had both positive and negative reactions. For the most part it other guys that wont like your hair, you can be serious and tell them that you arent cutting your hair, or make a joke about it so that they look stupid, Ill put the link for the thread about retorts at the bottom.
DONT go in for trims. I water wash & condition it everyday, and use shampoo every other day.
Glad to help :)

retorts to hair haters
Thanks a lot Jarvis, great feedback!! I visited the link and I found one comment very good: "If I'm a hippie what does that make you, a fascist pig?" I think that will be my answer! I like to be a hippie in the future and I think neohippies will be hot!!
For the last year I have ignored peoples comments on getting my hair trimmed and the reasons for it. I am finally seeing some good growth. It's to my armpits and my goal my mid back. I keep thinking about all the hair I lost to all those trims that ended up on the hairdressers floor. I wash my hair twice a week with conditioner and use a wide toothed comb.
Thanks for your feedback! You have wonderful hair, keep it growing, nice goal (midback)!
Dont trim your hair at all, not even the bangs when they start to get into your eyes, just part your hair to the sides and maybe use a bandanna or buff or something to keep it out of your face if you mind it that much, i myself however have found in my awkward stage i could see through my hair fairly well so it didnt really bother me if some got in my face every now and then, but if it bothers you just get something to restrain it, once your bangs are long enough to get into a ponytail you wont have the problem anymore.
