I've tried a few times to grow my hair long and I'm determined to do it this time!
My hair is really thick, should I get regular trims/thinned out or just let it grow naturally?
I hear conflicting advice some say regular trimming is better, if so how regular?
thanks
Mike
I started out at a trim every three months, and it really hampered my growth rate. I haven't had a trim in about a year and haven't noticed any negative effects. I say let it grow naturally (my hair is really thick too).
Wise words indeed....eh trimmers!
Sage advice indeed says this occasional trimmer! :D
Trims are absolutly necessary in order to keep the proportion of the hair as it grows longer. Will also aid in removing the split ends.
Hello!
It has been mentioned a lot, trims should be avoided unless your hair is really damaged, doesn't look right (shape and stuff) or similiar reasons. I feel like trimming mine but I rather wait than fret, get it trimmed and maybe make it look worse. But I guess a trim once a year could be nice, but without taking off too much.
I wish you great luck for your journey!

Just let it grow, scissors and growing hair are not bedfellows for the most part.
Hi Mike,
I say forget the trims and just let your hair do what it does best.GROW!!A pic would be helpful to see you current situation though.

This is my hair at around 3 months, my hair seems to grow upwards at first lol I guess gravity will sort it out when it's long enough!
thanks
Mike
No trims!
Gravity is your friend!
