Well guys, I've been growing my hair out for the first time since March, from a buzz cut.
The thing is, I seem to have way too little hair on the top of my head, I can actually feel I have at least 3x as much hair on the sides and back when I hold it.
I'm afraid I might be starting to go bald, since both my grandfathers are, and that it might start looking ridiculous since in my opinion I already have way too little hair on my forehead area!
I'm attaching some webcam pictures, please give me your sincere opinion. I don't wanna grow it out if I'm gonna look ridiculous =(
By the way, parting it in the middle is the way it seems to be less noticeable. But still, the picture quality is bad, my hair actually looks a lot lighter than that, especially in sunlight, and that makes it so I can perfectly see my scalp sometimes =(
Anyway, here are the pictures.. I appreciate any sincere comments.
Bruno
Picture 2, sorry I don't know how to put them all in one message!

It looks good to me and the top looks full. Give it a year or two and you will be happy with it. tommie
Tommie,
From your avatar it appears as though you have white long hair. that is awesome. I definitely hope that if my hair starts to turn grey, it actually just goes white white. Because that looks incredible.
Bruno G,
Your hair doesn't look that thin to me. And if you are having receding hairline issues, long hair seems to help hide that more often than it looking ridiculous. if you want long hair, then go for it! there will be a few months where it will seem crazy, even bordering on unmanageable. if you want it though, push through the awkward phase. If you feel you need a clean up trim, be VERY careful who you go to and be very explicit about what you want trimmed and how much! just tips from my humble experience with long hair. (man i need to update that avatar after 2 years...)
its thin, but it i dont think its enough to quit growing it, im sure when it grows more, itll look filled and healthy, if not, you can do aome other thing with ur hair, bald longhairs arw cool, spwcially btween bikers as me, me on my side, cant grow a beard and id really love one as urs
To be honest, to me it seems you are being paranoid. Possibly it's because the hair on top 'appears' to grow slower, when in fact it's not.
I think your growth looks great! Keep it up!
Does not look to be a problem there - some people have a higher hair line (no not receding) and that makes no difference to their appearance as long hairs.
Get growing!
Hey Bruno,
Well my honest opinion, from looking at this pic, is your hair looks perfectly normal.I don't see any problems with thinness at least from this angle.Maybe you are being too much of a critic of your own hair as many of us are guilty of that.If you want to post some more pics of different angles that might help us get a better perspective but what I see now is great!Cheers and good luck with your journey.
Mark
Looks fine to me.
Your hair looks well balanced to me.....many guys have thicker hair on the back and side, then on the top, so don't stress over it. If MPB runs in your family, you are young enough to possibly try one of several treatments now available (Talk to a dermatologist). Some board members can share their experience.
You hair looks great and you are off to a good start on your longhair journey.
Thanks for Sharing

Well guys, thanks a lot for all the support, I have decided to keep going with it until it's long, no matter if I'm starting to go bald or not.
I will visit a dermatologist anyway, just to prevent any future baldness if possible.
I'll try to post more around here, and maybe post progress pics every one or two months =)
Bruno
It's hard to tell from the angle these pictures were taken from, but I think you'll be fine. Grow it long and welcome to the board!

Hi Bruno,
To answer your question, here's a brief story:
One of the most impressive sights I ever saw of a longhair on the streets of San Francisco was when one day I saw a guy who was COMPLETELY bald on top and in front, and yet what hair he did have on the sides and in back went all the way down almost TO HIS KNEES!! I couldn't help myself: I had to speak to him and pay him a compliment, even though he was a complete stranger to me.
"I figure God gave me this hair to grow out; so, what right do I have to cut it off?" was his reply, --- as well as he thanked me for the compliment.
It's interesting that neither he nor myself mentioned a word about his obvious baldness. He carried himself well, --- walked and talked confidently, as well as looked fantastic in my opinion. I've never forgotten his example, because it made me realize that I had been whining about my own slightly receding hairline too much. We are all our own worst critics!
Just grow it, Bruno. Do it now, while you're still young and have more hair to work with. If you end up liking it long, in spite of whatever future hair loss you might experience as you age further, then keep it, --- regardless of anybody else's opinions. Just walk proudly, hold your head up high, and occasionally toss your mane back and have a good laugh (meaning, laughing at others whose opinions are based too much on following the "Fashion Police")!
