Hi everyone. There's a long time I don't post in here, but whenever I can I come around to see how everyone is doing. I've dealt with many different sort of things during the last year (some good things, and some bad), so that's why I've been so quiet lately. For some personal reasons (don't worry, nothing bad) I took some decisions. I had two give myself some time to think about myself as being a chemical dependent. My two dependences are: Marlboro Lights and Hair products. So for the ones that know me for a longer time, you know that a have this strange habit of making changes in my hair till I melt it. So I kind of did it again... But this time I decided to be tough with myself, I swear to God, that I'll be good to me enough to be away from cigarettes (I already don't smoke anything else) and from straightners, heavy color products and you know... All that stuf to say that I'm bald again, but I am a longhaired fellow, so in spite of everybody keep saying that I'm looking good, I know deep inside that "this isn't me!". So this is just a matter of time ahead. During this time I'll need support and beautiful progress pics to see and use as a motivation. I hope i have some free time to participate as I used to and again I say hello to everyone. I'm posting a pic of the next day I buzzed my head a month ago. It already grew a bit. The bad thing is: I'm salt and pepper and I hate it in me. Hugs guys!!!
Walter I'm shocked! If I didn't know that was you in that pic I never would have guessed. It's amazing how much a persons appearance changes when they loose their hair. Its dramatic. However I still remember you as a beautiful longhair and I'll again be looking forward to your new journey.Whatever issues you've had I hope they are behind you.Do yourself a favor and don't do things that are bad for your body.Life is too short my friend.Cheers
Mark
Yeah this kid at my school got his relatively early-into awkward stage hair buzzed and he looked completely different, only reason i recognized him was his voice and attitude.
Hi Walter,
"Well hang on boys and girls hang on for another fast ride....here we go again!"
I'm stunned! I have to agree with Mark I'd stay away of stuff that is not good for your body. For me personally I don't mind salt and pepper and have always have positive comments (not that I'm looking for attention...eh viewers!) and since growing out my hair I've kept away from harsh products.
Cheers,
John.B
So good to hear from you after such a long time....and no matter what you have been through, that wonderful smile has survived, so all is well !!
Keep Smiling, Keep Growing and Keep in Touch.
Walter
P.S. Good luck with the smoking....that is a tough one to kick....I have been off no filter Camels for 21 years and it still calls to me.
Good luck on getting rid of the nicotine habit. That's one from personal experience I can confirm is not easy to do. Took me 3 tries to get it to stick and will soon be 5 years. You'll only be able to make it stick when you're ready yourself and want to.
Now that my hair is getting past the shoulders it has been a long time since I've used a lot of gels and the like and I can feel that my hair is much healthier than when I wore it short and gunked up.
Good luck.
Charlie
Well said Charlie!
Good to hear from you, good decision to quit smoking. I did the same 8 months ago and am really happy that I did.
Welcome back stranger! I was just thinkin' of ya. No kidding! Not more than 3 days ago I thought to myself "We haven't heard from Walter in a real long time" and bingo, here you are!
I look forward to your future updates on your new journey.
Bruce
I don't know what else I can say. We live and we learn.
Stay away from those harsh hair porducts people.
Kevin
Walter!
It's been a while...
I do hope that things get better for you.
The bad thing is: I'm salt and pepper and I hate it in me.
This is the first sign of trouble and "hair product addiction" headed your way again...
It's this neurotic "old is bad, look younger" psychology that the advertising industry leverages to sell us crap we don't need.
Love who you are here and now, salt 'n pepper and all, Walter!
Big longhaired Hugs back atcha,
- Oren
Wow! That's quite a contrast between your avatar and your current pic. Good luck with stopping smoking. I was on the Marlboro Lights for more years than I like to think about, and on 30-40 a day. However, I've been off them for nearly ten years now. I stopped with a little help from the Nicorette inhalator - a great invention. It meant I could "smoke" at my desk, on planes, buses, trains etc. I think I was one of the lucky ones though, because I was more attached to the ritual of smoking than to the nicotine and I think it's a lot easier for people like me to stop than it is for those with a strong nicotine addiction.
Hopefully you'll manage to keep away from the straighteners and chemicals too. With luck, you'll get out of the habit while your hair's growing out. Keep us posted on your progress and keep smiling.
I see, Walter, that you've just thrust the yoyo down one more time. Having done this before, I presume you know what feelings lie down the pike, and that you will enjoy them. Enjoy your new (well, not so new) look! [wink]

Hi Walter,
Great to see you back here, --- although I'd be lying if I didn't also admit that I'm sad to see you buzzed your mane all off again...
Re. the natural "salt & pepper" hair color that's coming in, just think of it this way: you've EARNED those grey hairs!!! Having salt & pepper colored hair is visual PROOF that you've "been around the block" in life; that you've gained some WISDOM because of your age; and, that you have a lot of experience in life worth sharing with others who are younger than you.
I have a LOT of white hair myself. Yes, I'll admit that sometimes I miss seeing the "honey-blonde" hair color of my youth; but, would I consider dying it chemically in order to get that color back? Nope. If I did that, I'd loose whatever real natural color that I do still have left on my head. I don't mind coloring my beard on occasion: but, my mane stays untouched, --- "virgin hair", they call it! And the longer it gets, the more amazed I am at all the variety of colors: silver, gold, blonde, and even a few subtle reds left!
Anyway, I'm glad to see you back, --- just let your hair grow now!!
