Hello fellows.
I'm really sorry to have diseapeared without a word of explanation, especially beceause i had to leave the tech team.
I have not stoped lurking during all this time, i have see a lot of nice update, congratulation to all who still have their hair growing.
I have see that some of us has cut their hair, that's a shame but i hope you are fine and happy in your life (and regrowing you hair :) ).
I haven't cut my hair, i can't remember how long i have been growing it. 3 years and a half ? i don't know, i will tell you later but my hair don't grow really fast now.
I'm planning to maybe having my end cuts, they are really damaged and i have a lot of tangle, my hair is so tangly i untangle it only when i wash it. If i try to untangle it while dry, it would take about one hour and my hair will tangle again in five minutes... Plus my hair look really bad, i don't know what to do.
******************Skip to the other stars line if you don't want to read about my scalp condition*****************************
My scalp condition is going worse everyday, i neved had so much dandruff, plus it's extending to some part of my face and back :
i have pieces of skin falling from my eye brow, and patch of dry/died skin on and inside my nose, inside my ears, and the top part of my back, just under my neck. it's itching as hell, i usually have some small wounds on my scalp beceause of the scratching.
*************************************************************
I also shred a lot of hair, i don't know if it's normal, my hair doesn't seem to be thining.
Now, what's new in my life ?
I'm at University, studiying Physics and Chemics.
I have a girlfriend now, i have been with her for about a year and half. She loves longhair and she also have pretty long hair too !
I could talk a lot more but i have to stop, i have to go to bed, i'm tired.
I hope you don't have forgoten me and i hope you will forgive me to have left in a such way...
I'm really happy to come back, I missed you guys.
I upload a pict of me, it has been taken the summer before the last one. So it's a one year old picture, but my hair has pretty much the same lenght now, i will post a better picture later.
Sorry about the grammar and typos, i'm sleepy.
I know i should have wait tomorow to post, but i want to post now.
See you soon my dear friends.
Have a good day/night and please forgive me.
Angel it's wonderful to see you back. I'm glad things are going well for you and we did think of you from time to time.
Most of all it's nice to see someone come back who has not cut their hair. Bravo!!
take care
Kevin

Have a good day.
François
Hey man! I totally remember you, you've got a great head and an awesome inspiration for new growers! It just looks so swell an natural on you. That's great about the g/f and glad school's going well. I hope the scalp condition gets some treatment, it's sounding to be getting fairly serious.
Take care of yourself and your hair,
-Christian Epp
Hello Christian,
Thanks for the compliments.
I have got so much inspiration from this board, I'm am really happy if i can be a source of inspiration to new growers.
My skin condition is really terrible atm, i'm going to see a dermatologist soon.
Have a good day.
François
Wow!A blast from the past.lol.Yes I remember you and its great that you are still growing your hair and haven't forgotten your friends at mlhh:)I feel bad that you are having all these problems with dandruff so I trust you will see a dermatologist who can help you.No need to put up with that when I'm sure something can be done to help your condition.Anyway thanks for your update and the cool pic.Hope to see you around on a regular basis my friend.Cheers
Mark
Hello Mark,
Thanks, Does my presence here sounds so old ? lol
Dandruff is really anoying me, ATM i have a lot of piece of skin on my desk... it's quite disgusting, i hope i will get rid of it soon. as i said to others, i'm trying to get an apointment with a dermatologist soon.
Don't worry, now you will see me more often !
Have a good day.
François
Hello Angel, it's so good reading from you (I have your msn by the way =D )
Your hair is looking gorgous and I think it looks so good on you, you can really pull it off beautyfully!
I'm sorry to hear about your skin condition tough, I have something similar on my scalp but it's not as bad as yours.
Mine is called seborreah dermatitis, maybe your is the same? You can use special products to take it down, altough it's a cronical condition. Check it out on the web and I'm sure you'll find the something. The most important tough, is, if you haven't done this yet, to go to a dermatologist.
I wish you the best luck, and I'm happy to hear you're at uni, good luck with that too!
Hello my friend,
Thanks you for your compliment, i have seen pretty much all your updates, a lot of inspiration.
At the begining i thought i had seborreah dermatitis, I have got some medication about it and used a lot of different shampoo, Tgel, head and shoulder, elseve, lush, ketordern...
but it's still getting worse and worse, so maybe it's a terrific psoriasis...
atm i'm using the elseve one, it's work better than other and don't seems to be as agressive despite its pretty strong smell (not as strong as the lush thought...)
As i said to others, i'm trying to get an apoitment with a dermatologist soon.
Have a good day.
François
Hi Angel,
I remember you, and your gorgeous hair from a while back. Thanks for showing up again!
A "random act of kindness" for sure.
I dig the wavey, un-even look of your hair, just naturally falling as it should. Thanks for the update, and letting us know how you are.
-Daniel
Hello Daniel,
Thanks for the compliments.
My hair doesn't look like i would like it to, in fact i would like it to be more even.
But i'm glad you like it.
When i will got time i will try to get better picts of my hair, i hope you will enjoy them.
Have a good day.
François
Welcome back Angel, glad to see you're still growin' your wonderful mane out! And a long hair lovin', longhaired girlfriend. Congrats!
Angel, have you been tested for food allergies? Some people who have a wheat allergy or are allergic to a specific protein will exhibit some of the same symptoms that you have. It's worth talking about that with a dermatologist. He/she can set you up with a good allergist perhaps.
Good luck,
Bruce
Hello Bruce,
thanks for the warm welcome.
I haven't been tested for food allergies,
when I will get an apointment with my dermatologist, I will ask her about that.
Have a good day,
François
Angel!
Nice to hear from you again.
From this side, your hair is looking very nice.
Chlorine in tap water can aggravate these sorts of irritations. Consider investing in a small chlorine filter, that can be attached to the shower head.
Congrats on your new studies and being bless with a supportive, like-minded girlfriend!
Best wishes and welcome back,
- Oren
Hello Oren,
It's nice to see you around !
Thanks you for the compliments,
I think it is not the chlorine problem, I have washed my hair in other part of France with different waters and it didn't change anything, i have even washed my hair in Thonnon-les-bains, this city has a great tap water (the same that they put in their mineral water bottle !)
If i remember corectly, you had fire problem with your beard, hadn't you ? is it well regrowing ?
Have a good day,
François
Angel,
You're blessed with good tap water.
I do hope you resolve your scalp condition.
My beard is doing very well - currently approaching 30cm.
- Oren
Re-Bienvenue et content de te revoir !
Sorry to hear about your scalp. I wonder : I you try to wash it only with water, what would result. Well it's a kind a strange way, but I 've done that for some months, and since, no itching at all (AT ALL). I believe you should give a try, at least it cannot be worse.
Hope to see you again !
Vivien
Salut Vivien,
Merci pour l'accueil :)
I'v already tried the no shampoo alternative, but after a week, the pieces of skin build up on my skin, using my hair oil as cement and then, i'v got some kind of muddy mess on my scalp...
and even brushing my hair everyday didnt allow me to remove the dandruff build up... so i started shampoing again.
A bientôt cher ami.
François
We haven't heard from you in a long time, good to hear everything is ok in your personal life. To bad to you've got some issues with your hair, cutting the end will be a good idea. That would improve your hair a lot.
About the dandruff don't know what to do about it, do you eat a healthy diet?
Shedding is not a problem, everyone seems to shed a lot and we've still have longhair :)
Hello Vincent,
My life is pretty much OK now, or at last i pretend it to be OK so my mind feel better.
I'm really considering cutting the end since it's really hell to untangle my hair, and all knot are from the damaged ends.
my diet is mhh... not really healthy, i guess it doesn't help, i should consider trying to eat more healthy.
I don't know if i shed more than before or if it is beceause my hair gets longer and my untangling sessions gets less frequent, but sometime i really shed a lot of hair !
Have a good day,
François
Hi Angel,
Thank you for stopping on by to say hi again, and of course we remember you!
That is wonderful news that you have someone special in your life, and I wish you all the very best in your relationship! Also, my best good luck vibes in your studies, and it is cool to see that you are persuaing the sciences! (I was a chemist for over 31 years, until I retired a year ago)
Your hair looks great in this photo, thick and healthy. Of course, I am sorry to hear that you are still having the scalp problems I remember you talking about before. I hope that you will be able to find a solution that works for you.
Take care, and don't be a stranger!
David
Hello David,
It's nice to see you again,
I remember you were one of the first person to welcome me when i joined mlhh.
Thanks you for your kind words, having a long haired girl friend who is as suportive as mine is really nice.
I also wish everything is ok for you.
I remember seeing the pict of your retirment, and some pict of you in your labs, you were working at some kind of water quality test, weren't you ?
These studies are pretty hard, but our teachers are really nice person, it's really a change compared to high school.
I plan to be a teacher, and maybe also a searcher who knows ?
Have a good day,
François
Hi Angel,
yes, I remember you. You were from France, werent you?
Congratulations to your career at university, sounds good. Great picture, being a redhair is really something very special, thats undeniable. I wouldnt care too much about the issues, if you managed to grow your hair to that impressive length and thickness there are no problems that can be handeled, I think.
all the best for the future
regards from Germany
Leto
Hello Leto,
Yes i'm from France !
My hair are really special, the color is pretty much rare beceause it's not totally red.
My hair are long, but the end are damaged... and with my current skin condition, i'm scared the root would be damaged too.
Have a good day,
François
Bonjour Angel,
Of course I remember you, and it has been a long time since you have posted. I am sorry to hear about the skin condition, but like Joao said, maybe you should go to see a dermatologist. I have that a little too; mainly I get flaky skin on the nose and inside my ears which can be a problem. I think that there are several ways to defeat it though. You can try tea tree oils as well as many medicated shampoos and such.
Your hair looks great, and it's good to hear about your girlfriend and your entrance into your university education. Good luck with everything.
You should not apologize for your words, because your English is much better than my French, or most anyone else's French too!
Matt B.
Hello Matt,
I'm going to try to get an apoitment with a dermatologist soon, i hope she will fix that soon !
the flaky skin on the nose is new for me, but it gets itchy and then when i remove the dead skin, the skin under is really irirated and it itch and hurt at the same time, plus my skin become red... i guess that's the same thing that is happening on my head but i can't see it...
I have tried many medicated shampoo without much succes, and i didn't find any tea-tree oil around there, maybe there is another name ?
thanks you for your compliments and for your wished.
My english is maybe better than your french but english is easier to learn than french !
Have a good day,
François
Nothing to forgive that I can see, life happens to everybody sooner or later. Great news about the girlfriend and your studies, hope both work out well for you.
Hello my friend,
Thanks for your kind words.
See you soon,
Have a good day,
François

A newcomer to the site myself, so good to meet you. Have a good weekend.
Hello,
Nice to meet you Charlie.
As i have seen in the picts you have posted lately, you seems to have a wonderfull mane, shinny, thick, straight but with some nice waves.
Keep it growing, i hope you will post some other picts soon :)
Have a good day,
François
Bonjour and welcome back - your English is probably better than my Canadian French so we'll stick to that.
It's interesting to see how much your look has matured in the last couple of years - it looks good on you.
Good luck with your scalp issues and hopefully you can get them dealt with soon. I remember some of your earlier posts mentioning them.
AndrewB
Hello Andrew,
Thanks for the compliments.
I also hope i will get the dealth woon...
Have a good day,
François
Have you ever had your thyroid checked? Seriously, your skin problems are very common with thyroid disorders. An amazing number of people have untreated thyroid disorders, and blamed much of the symptoms on something else. I'm just suspicious, because apparently the treatments you tried have been unsuccesful for you, and when you mentioned the ear, eyebrow and side of the nose, that really sounds like thyroid. It will get worse, and other symptoms will develope over time, such as fatigue. Get a blood test for thyroid, make sure they do a complete thyroid test, not a simple test. It should include T3, T4 and total.
If the test shows problems, they can do a scan to test thyroid function. Then, depending on the results of the test, they can provide treatment, usually just taking thyroid hormone pills. Look up hypothroid (which is what I have, and I had the exact same skin flaking you did, same locations), and hyperthyroid, and check out the common symptoms. If you have been having more shedding than usual, and more brittle hair and nails as well, you probably are developing hypothyroidism. You are more likely to have a thyroid disorder, if there is a family history. But there isn't always; no one else in my family has it, but I have the auto-immune type, Hashimoto's Thyoiditis. Check the symptom list, and bring up the possibility with your doctor.
Hello Carol,
Thanks for this really interesting post, i checked the thyroid disorder online and i have some of the symptoms of the hypothyroidism:
-Fatigue
-Cold intolerance
-Depression
-My fingernail seems strong even if my hair seem to be weaker
-Dry, itchy skin
-I drink a lot of water and sweat quite a lot
-I had some problem with my heart, some tachycardia and my heart rate is quite low (around 60BPM)
But i really don't have the others, so i don't know what to think.
I think i need to get an apointment with my dermatologist
About 6 month ago i saw my doctor beceause i was really tired all the day long, he made me get some blood test and didn't anything wrong, i should try to find my result to see if the Ts have been checked.
Have a good day,
François
You don't necessarily need to have ALL of the symptoms, everybody has different ones. But you definitely have a lot of them. I'm willing to bet your doctor never considered hypothyroidism, and didn't do a full thyroid panel. It's not something doctors routinely check for, unless you present symptoms and tell them. Fatigue and tachycardia episodes were something I frequently had. I didn't have problems with fingernails or depression, but my tolerance to heat and cold was affected.
I felt so much better after going on thyroid hormone. Bring up the symptoms you are having to your doctor, and ask if a thyroid panel was done. Even if one was done 6 months ago, you may have just had barely enough hormone then, and your levels have dropped since. So, it's still a good idea to repeat, if you did have a thyroid test previously. You could have been starting Hashimoto's, and it has gotten progressively worse. With Hashimoto's, your immune system attacks the thyroid gland. I just have a strong feeling, based on your symptoms, that underactive thyroid may be the culprit.
Welcome back Angel, great to hear from you and cool to know all is good in your world my friend. The hair is looking amazing.
Take care and see you around the board,
~ Dave
Thanks you Dave,
my hair won't ever look as amazingly "wild" as yours :)
Have a good day,
François
hey, Ive only been here since june so I dont know you...
but thats some awesome hair you got there
Hello Jarvis,
I'm happy to meet you.
Thanks for your compliment, see you soon on the board !
Have a good day,
François
Welcome back from one Angel to another.
Angel
Thanks you my friend :)
Have a good day,
François
Hi Angel. I do remember you and I used to post as Regardless. Don't worry, I am not one of those who have cut their hair while you were gone. I will be hitting my three years at the end of the year. Your hair does not look back. It is just wavy and curly, and my hair is just like yours. In fact, I am attracted to wavy or curly hair. I do shed my hair a good amount as well, but I do not have any scalp issues.
Matthew
Hello Matthew,
Thanks you for your message.
I'm happy you don't have cut your hair :)
The thing i don't like in my hair is that they are curly at the back, wavy and them nearly straight in the front and all these kinds of hair tangle themselves making it look like a mess :(
I would love to have just wavy hair.
Have a good day.
François
