I just took a picture of the old mop at the ends :-)

I would say no, looks just fine, John. :)
Looks good, John!
I guess no trim. :p
Eh, trimmers?
XD
-Andrea
Indeed exactly!
I do have a few splits and you know trimmers you are always welcome to come around and get rid of them for me!
I think, about splits, that it's impossible to have long hair without any of them, they're natural, after all. So let's let them be!
My worst enemy is uneveness. XD But that's also natural, since hair is never even.
-Andrea
A particular hair on the bottom centre looks like it's starting to split. You may want to nip that one.
Kevin
Now let's not split hairs!
That was a good one John! LOL

Old mop? HA!
Looks very well to me. Trim? No way.
Thin? No way.
Snip? No way.
Clip? No way
Chop? No way.
Buzz? NO WAY!
Enjoy? OF COURSE! :-)

Everyone's hair thins at the ends. Only a few strands survive to reach maximum length. My hair looks like this at the ends too. Looking good.

Even after 5 years!

Some people here dust split ends, individually. I admit to having done it on occasion, but have not done so for years. Splits usually involve only the last 1/8 to 1/4" of the ends. Removal of 1/4" of damage does not show a noticable decrease in length. In my situation, the few splits I get usually just break off and don't extend up the hair shaft.
If you get tangling right at the very ends when combing or brushing, splits may be to blame.

I agree just let it grow

Thanks for the kind advice and I have for the past 8 years!
OMG that looks really bad, you should have trimmed your hair every month now it looks like sh*t. I advise to shave your hair off and start over..... :p
now now, CAN'T WE JUST ALL GET ALONG! hehehe to funny.
But we are getting along!
Wishing my was that long to just throw out on the table a snap a photo of it!

Oh, no, a dreadful bunch of split hairs. Swim away, fugu fish, swim awaaaaaay!
Charlie, quickly, cut your hair! Grab the magical pair of scissors! Noo!...Noooooo!
Nah!
I hope to examine those locks a little closer next month if you make out this way during your visit.

It's hard to say without seeing a microscopic close up. lol. IMO, however, I would just trim the split and bent hairs instead of chopping off precious inches.
Seek and destroy, that's what I was taught by my fellow longhairs on this board! Very time consuming though, finding time can indeed be a problem of course...
