new thread
So it's now been a bit over four years since I started growing my hair out. I just started growing a beard again, it's only been about two weeks. It's been a while since my last update. What's new with me? Graduated college. Just closed down the pool I was managing over the summer and started a new job as a manager on duty of a fitness center. Got to see Judas Priest, Heaven and Hell, and Motörhead recently. Motörhead was especially sweet since I got to catch Lemmy's bass pick. Those are the exciting things. I'm also running the Baltimore Marathon in two weeks and hoping to get my time down enough to qualify for Boston. Looking forward to your guys' comments.

Man,you look wonderful Garth with that gorgeous length:)It must have been awhile since you last did an update since I don't remember your hair being nearly that long.Kudos to you for sticking with your journey and not faltering like some others have.Sounds like you've been busy too with the concerts and all.Yea Lemmy's a cool dude but I haven't seen him live in years.I need to get back to seeing concerts as I've been away from that scene the last year or so due to circumstances.Anyway its heartwarming to see pics like yours as that tells me there still is hope for the longhaired guy!Cheers my friend.

I think I'm going to go as a wizard for Halloween, so I'll be growing it out until then. It seems I always end up shaving it when it starts to get longer and itchier. Thanks for the compliments and encouraging words.

You saw some great bands, I'm not seeing motorhead I can't afford the ticket but it must be a great show!
Good luck with the marathon I'm sure you will qualify, is this your first one or did your run one before?
I just run my first 10 mile run in 1:15:13 and next week I will run my first half marathon. I think that in a year from now I will run my first marathon.

That's a pretty good time for a 10 miler, you should do fine in the half marathon. This is actually my third marathon I've run. I need to shave about ten minutes off my last time in order to qualify for Boston, so I'll see how it goes. Good luck with your half marathon and thanks for the compliments.

That is an awesome set of pictures!!! Glad to hear that your Summer was good-obviously busy though. You must stick to a great regime when taking care of your hair as it looks fantastic. Any good suggestions you can share? How far are you from waist length?

Thanks for the comments. As for tips; I always comb my hair right when I get out of the shower and it's still slippery from the conditioner. I also always keep it in a segmented pony tail when running or doing athletic stuff, it prevents tangles much better than a regular tail. It's about 5 inches to waist length. Thanks for the update and looks like you really caught the sun this summer and a good tan. You hair is looking in wonderful condition and very health and thick as well and a great inspiration to others.
You've seen some great bands so far this summer and it's always great to see Motorhead play. They usually do a series of shows in December here. Now you've got a prized pocession and not many people have got one of those.
That's great news about you graduating and good luck with the new job hope you qualify for the Boston marathon.

I think I'm actually at the length I wanted to originally achieve. I'm going to keep it growing and just see how long I can get it. I think I'm considering getting a pretty major trim because taking care of this much hair is getting to be a total bitch, especially with all the running I'm doing. I obviously am not doing anything hasty or soon, but the thought of being able to take five minute showers again is nice. haha.
