Excellent, Rick! Go for it! I started growing mine out at 47 and just reached the 2 1/2 year mark yesterday. It's not as thick as I would have liked it to be, but oh, well.
Rick, By all means go for it. Lots of older men have nice looking long hair. I'll be 57 next month. Started growing mine out at age 40 ----Attached pic from last fall.

I'm 54 last March. Indeed, never too old!
That's so cool, Bruce! :D
And I agree, you're never too old for growing longhair. (Even though now I'm just almost 18 XP)

Join the club! I am 54 and have been growing since 1994 when I was only 39. Being true to oneself hairwise becomes increasingly important at 40+. Will be looking forward to seeing your progress.

My hair reaches my knees and I am 56. It is reasonably thick too. These images are a couple of years old but my hair is still the same.

Hi Rick,
Good for you that you are growing your hair out, and all the best in your long hair grwoing journey!
I turned 56 years old in early August, and have no plans to cut mine. The attached photo is several months old, and it is still SLOWLY growing!.
Be sure to keep it growing!
David
David, Simply gorgeous hair!

Hi Jonalbear,
Thank you for your kind words! Although not as thick as your awesome mane, I am reasonably content with what I have, and I hope I can gain a few more inches!
Keep it growing,
David
51, and I haven't really had short hair since my teens, although it wasn't always as long as it is now.
Hi Rick,
In my mind, I have this image that I'm still 23... but, then I look in the mirror (and, YIKES)!!
Actually, my hair is longer now that when I was a teen or in my 20s, --- in fact, WAY WAAAY longer! And I'm fifty... umm, wait a minute... fifty... (it's hard for me to say it out loud!)... fifty-sixxxx...teen, --- yep, that's it! I'm only 16!!! (I just look like hell for my age!!)
As the saying goes, "Denial is not just a river in Egypt!"
Happy growing, --- regardless of age!!

... And I still have long hair.
Actually, it's a little shorter than this now, because I trimmed the ends. But it's still below my belt.

It's in a tail or braided when I'm sleeping, and I throw it over my pillow (away from me).
