Hey, so last week I went to get my hair trimmed to deal with the split ends and the person cutting my hair thinned it even though i never wanted it thinned so i was kinda pissed, cause why wouldn't someone want there hair as thick as they can get it. Anyway, will my hair go back to its original thickness and if so how long do you think it will take? I have been growing my hair for about 8 months now from a shaved head if that helps.
Sorry to tell you that, I let them hack my hair at 14 months by thinning it. 3 years later I'm still paying the price, evn after several trims. The thing is... until the hair that was thinned out either gets cut or falls out (do to terminal length) you will have to carry the consequences. One thing is to get frequent trims once you get a decent length or just let it be but at some point it WILL be noticeable.
Sorry Giacco but I don't think it's like that...when I had much shorter hair and a different cut, I used to get it thinned every 3 months and it was getting thick in 1 or 2 months. I think it depends on each person's hair.

I went and got me a mullut a few months ago and i am still paying for it. You are not alone. I plan to grow my hair out

Going in for a trim at 8 months of growth is waaay too early. I don't think hair is even long enough to get split... lesson learned the hard way...
Ah, the stylist who knows what you want better than you do. A story told again and again.
I think your hair will even out over time, but don't F#$@ with it in the meantime!
I mean, be patient, give it time, don't do anything rash.
Good luck Brett

Ouch! @#*^@$%...
You'll gain back your thickness eventually - time and patience are your best friends.
Regarding split ends, how do you dry your hair after washing?
Blow drying on high, or rubbing your hair vigorously with a towel while drying can damage the ends pretty quickly.
I just blot my hair with a towel (no rubbing) and let it air dry.
Stick with a stylist who knows and understands male long hair! (A shameless plug for our own B.R.Gallagher)

I do the same thing you do, but if I'm in a hurry I blow dry my hair using the cool button.

Well I'm a bit confused. On July 25th you posted a pic and said
you had been growing for a year and a half. Now you got a trim
and claim 8 months of growing. I'm a bit suspicious so perhaps
a pic will help clear things up.
For those who want to see the July post the post # is 259719.
pop that in the archives search box and it will come up.
Kevin
I think that was his old picture and he started over for some reason.
--------------------------
I checked that archive and based on the followup posts Brett stated some kid at school set part of his hair on fire forcing him to cut off the rest.So he basically had to restart his journey. This might explain why he is stating being at only 8 months.Just a thought.

I saw that too, I guess what has me wondering is after only eight months he needs to get a trim for split ends.
8 months of growth equals about 4 inches of hair about (10 centimetre's) If one has splits already I suggest using lots of conditioner and avoid trims.
As John B would say "Just let it grow"
Kevin

I agree Kevin that 8 months of growth is wayyyyyyy too soon to be
messing with trimmin'.In fact since Brett already has grown out his
hair once before he should already know not to trim.Guess he's
still in shock over the hair fire.
Oh btw have a great time on your vacation:)Cheers

Most amazing in that this posting is either exactly like (or as close as could possibly EVER be) to a question I recently received on one of my Long Hair Videos which I answered and is posted for all to read. Ah..........too many videos now to look through, but it IS in one of them and would appear near or at the bottom of the column. I "think" it was one of the earlier ones. So, is there a double out there? The same person? A not for real real out there? Stranger than fact of fiction? Or, as Riply would say: "Believe it or not."
Hey justin. I did ask you this question on youtube before but I just thought it would be nice to get some other people's perspective. not that you didn't give good advice.
Actually, that last pic I posted was before I had my head shaved. And I'l post a pic in a couple weeks so at least it will probably look a little better than it does right now.
I thought all haircuts were bad.
