Hey guys, I was just curious as to what your hair washing habits are. How often, with what, etc.
Thanks in advance.
Chris.
Hey Chris.
I know I told a little bit of my hair routine in my update post, but I'll tell you everything I do.
As I mentioned, I shampoo just about every day, I have a really greasy scalp. I recently stopped using conditioner, as it was just adding more grease to my already greasy scalp.
As for drying, I just pat my hair gently with the towel. (Don't rub vigourously). Then I sit in front of a fan for about 20 minutes and dry my hair, or just let it air dry. Don't blowdry your hair, you will just damage it and cause split ends. Then I just run my comb or brush through it for a few minutes.
If you are trying to find the hair care routine that works best for you, the best thing to do is experiment and find out what your hair likes and what it doesn't.
Well, that is my advice. Hope that helps a little.
Luke.
Heya.
I have thin hair that reaches most of the way down my back. I tend to wash it once a day, sometimes with shampoo and conditioner, other times using only water. The results vary. Shampooing and conditioning too much tends to lead to bad hair days, however I do tend to get very good results if and when I wash with just water for a few days, then shampoo and condition it thoroughly.

I use mud and sometimes just dry dirt. Nature is the only way to bring out the shine.
I use water only washes for my curly shoulder length-ish hair.
Sometimes if I get excess oil or dandruff I may put a squirt of shampoo on my scalp and rub and wash that out. I probably do this twice a month. I also condition whenever I shampoo.
Chris, Two to three times a week with shampoo. Once a week with conditioner. Every other day of the week with just water.
Seems to work great for me!
I wash mine once a week and so oftern to prevent dreadings
one thing no more shampoo/conditioner combos

I used to wash my hair with shampoo every one or 2 days because I sweat alot in my sleep. But since I turned my fan on Ive been able to cut that back to about half. I still use conditioner every day though.
You're welcome.

I usually wash and condition my (belt-length) hair about twice a week, or more if I've got a lot of matches to play. I'll normally let it air dry for half an hour to an hour and then brush and plait it. I used to smooth on a few drops of jojoba oil when it had dried, but now, thanks to Urban Cowboy, I've started adding the oil while it's still damp and have had much better results. It feels much softer, less frizzy and more manageable. I also get less breakage, so although my growth rate hasn't changed, it seems as if it's growing faster.
Every third or fourth day depending on how grimy my head feels I'll shampoo and heavily condition, then follow up with a small amount of olive oil all over to add softness and tame the post-washing frizz.
Most often I'll put it up in a ponytail to dry over the next eternity, but sometimes I let it loose to dry and hope for the best.
