Every once in while someone seems to fall off the edge of the world then finally post that they've been lurking but too busy to post. (Something I don't understand, afterall if you've got time to read how come you don't have time to type? But I digress) Well I'm not one of those. I've been too busy to even lurk the past couple of weeks although I did get to make a couple of posts during the past 24 hours. Unless life changes from what it currently is, I suspect more of the same for awhile. Oh well, this is good to be busy, but I'm missing my daily MLHH fix. LOL
Until next post,
Long live the braid!
Daniel
EASY! Think of it this way: I just had time to read your post (I was lurking - tee hee hee); but, was debating in my head whether or not I had the time to also type in a quick reply... The truth is: since I am rather long-winded, i NEVER am "quick" at ANY reply! It is now past 1AM, Pacific Coast time. If I had just turned off the computer and gone to bed after lurking, instead of taking all this time to type out an answer to your question, I would have been in bed already (in fact, would have been in bed at least 15 or 20 minutes ago)!!... Additionally, if I now also take the time to reply to everyone else that has recently posted on the board, that will add on another 15-20 minutes per poster. And by then I'll also probably feel "guilty" that I haven't also typed in any reply to the folks that posted further on down the page (during the time when I didn't even have the time over the past few days to even do any lurking); so, will then additionally have to add another 15-20 minutes per person in replying to those people, too.... Depending on how far down the page I keep typing in my long-winded replies, maybe, just MAYBE I'll finally get to bed around 3 or 4 in the morning!!!!!
Life is nothing but a vicious circle, Daniel. We go to work, we eat, we have to go to the bathroom, we have to go to bed again in order to just get up again in order to go back to work again and then repeat the whole thing over and over and over again (AKA "Wash - Lather - Rinse - Repeat" - LOL)....
The same thing w/ MLHH: we post, we get replies, we reply to the replies, they reply to those replies, and then we reply to everyone's posts and/or replies all over again... WHEW! Makes me tired just thinking about it!!! Which reminds me..... I think I should have gone to bed over a full half-hour ago now!!...
OK, seriously now, it's time for me to...
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....
........while also saving time while (not) lurking is to just make one post for it all just to say your still alive. Well, like you (and myself) just did! lol Since your a self professed long winded typer, this should be of most benefit to you and others like you. Which is why I assume some posters don't reply to each individual reply when they post an update, but just one big generic "thank you for your comments" post after a few days. Saves time for everyone...both the typer and the readers. A whole lot less clicking going on that way. But, when/if someone has the time the individual reply to the replys to the original post or other replys still, it's still a great way to keep it all on the personal level as well. It's all good, as long as one has or takes the time to read or post at all. Which I don't today, I didn't have time to lurk today so I just replyed to your reply to my post instead.
I do understand feeling guilty about not replying to posts further down the page. To lesson the guilt for me I just don't read those threads until I have such time to where I do have time to read them, by then those threads are forgotten by the original poster(s) and adding a reply at that point would be moot at best. I hope that made as much sence as using dark red wine to get a grape jelly stain out of your best white shirt.
My point was/is/will be, that there was a reason why I hadn't been replying to anyones posts lately, and that reason is I didn't know what to repy since I hadn't read the posts...eh, or something like that.
See, your not the only long winded poster around here. Some of us are just alot better at using more words to say nothing than others. While yet other posters can get alot said in just a short sentence. I'm not sure in which catorgory I fit though.
Sorry everyone for not having time to lurk today, but I've got to get back to work now.
Until my next tirade about absolutely nothing at all,
long hair forever.
Daniel
