Interesting article Duncan. I think that it was written a little on the side of showing a sensual and maybe a bit femenine side to men having long hair--specially some of the pictures. On the other hand, I think that women with short hair look very femenine.
Like you, I feel that long hair on guys is NOT femenine at all.
Thnaks for sharing the article with us...
None of those guys have beards. Of course youths that can't grow a beard look feminine. I never liked the short-haired look on women; because to me it makes them look like 12 year old boys. Most men can grow a beard. Even if it's thin it immediately resolved the gender question.
Interesting link. I get that the article was pro-hair, but were they saying that the hair is ir is not feminine? Either way, there was some awesome hair on that page.
Ive had a couple 'different' hairdos in the past month. It's been in Willie Nelson braids. It's been in those braidswhich were then pinned to the top of my head. As well as sone other that will take too long to explain and my usual style which is just 2 or 3 random braids on my head.
I'm surprised they didn't have a section about braids. I know a good bit of people (by people I mean guys) that think my braids are feminine.
The long haired boys shown admittedly were a bit hard to tell from a girl but the adult men were not, except when they had styled bob hair or wore feminie costumes as in the case of those Thai transvestites.
Their faces of the adult men alone are masculine, irrespective of their smooth complexions in these rather processed photos, whilst other features are their broad shoulders and V shaped torso and lack of breasts.
If men were mean't to have short hair, then their hair would not grow long, plain and simple.
It's only recent social rules, especially since the Victorian era in England, when this thing about men having to have short hair, whilst women could have long hair came about.
Look at the pictures of scientists such as Isaac Newton, Boyle and son on, philosophers and others who had long hair.
Look at traditional Chinese movies and the warriors have long hair.
The Native Americans have long hair.
On the other hand, I've come across feminine men -- ie transvestites who act feminine, with a feminine voice, mannerisms, gait and so on, irrespective of whether they have short or long hair.
What a load of bull that article is.
As Steve Nova mentioned, there were no pics featuring guys with beards.
I think when you have guys with 'androgynous' features and you put long hair on them, ofcourse they will appear more feminine.
But try making an argument for a guy with a zz top beard, and a potbelly, with long hair, as appearing feminine. LOL
Whenever the public speaks it seems to say that longhaired guys are either a**holes or just a bit too girly.
Those guys are much prettier than I ever want to be. Lol.
The site dies supports longhaired guys but only one kind. But what can you expect when the parent site is "Male Femininity"?
It is a good find Duncan, showing at least a positive view of longhair.
Paul
Those are the girliest looking guys already. Their long hair doesn't change the fact that they had feminine features to start with.
Agree 100%. As I said in my earlier post I believe that the article and the photos may have been directed at showing femenine looking guys!
While I strongly disagree with some of the implications and conclusions, that was a very interesting read.
Thanks for Sharing

Maybe "they" is overstating it. Maybe that site is the opinion of one person, for all a site visitor knows.
Anyone can visit MLHH and see our site's information is derived from the input of hundreds if not thousands of people, collected over 12 years. Many of our users and all of our management are shown on the site with names and photographs. This gives a site visitor a sense of the depth of the information found here and the varied experiences of those who have come together to provide it.
That site we just looked at is missing all that sense of revealing the legitimacy of its source. For all we know, it is nothing more than one person's opinion, and he doesn't even say who he is, so I wouldn't take anything there seriously. Anyone can throw up a web site and pretend he is an expert on a subject, but such self-anointing does not make him one.
Bill
Hi Bill,
I have no idea who is behind this interesting website. I suspect that it is probably the work of one person only who has chosen to remain annonymous and is simply putting their own viewpoint across. For all we know it may be a woman behind the website who really likes Androgynous looking males or even GASP! a guy! (Grins)
I personally do not agree with a lot of the points raised in the article that long hair is a feminine characteristic but have always thought that women's hair has a long life expectancy and generally grows a bit faster then men's hair on average. Some of the hair was really inspiring to look at though and another article on the website talking about what defines femininity said that we all have different perceptions of what it is.
Guess the only way to find out is to contact the Website owner directly and ask - I only shared this website that I found as it did support guys with long hair and also thought it may stir the pot a bit with some of the controversial viewpoints found therein!
And I'm sure the overwhelming majority of men who visit and post at the MLHB would NOT want to look that pretty! But different strokes for different folks is what makes humanity more interesting!
Duncan
sorry, I dont get it. Hair has nothing to do with gender imo
we all have it (males, females, in-betweeners) and it grows long naturally so now I'm lost... gender???? (I thought that had to do with body bits)... lol
