Hello,
it's been almost a year since my last post. I've been growing my hair for 4 years now and I love it. It seems to be a bit thinner than last year, but I'm not sure, as it could also be caused by the nature of my curls which sometimes look fuller and sometimes thinner. A month ago I made some photos in which it looks quite full. So I'm not too worried after all, though I did have the impression that I shedded more hair than usual in the summer.
Another interesting thing is that my top-hair seems to grow longer than the hair on the back and sides of my head. I might reach terminal-length soon, but actually I'm very happy with the length, so it's alright. Some of my ends seem very fragile an some even just brake off. So there is a chance that I go for a t*** one day, but at the moment I just wait and see. I should admit aswell that there is a fair chance that I maybe t*** it back to shoulder-blade-length one day (maybe never), but I still want to keep it long for ever.
I'm back in Germany now after being a year in Great Britain and working in a small care-home fore severely autistic people. That was a really good experience, sometimes very hard (the work included hair-pulling occasionally ;)), but I learned a lot and I think I could contribute something aswell. Now I'm studying at university...
It's nice to see all the updates and new people and to see that three of you managed to meet up.
I'm still not the biggest fan of the internet, so please don't mind if I'm not that active. For my gallery: if a popup occours (it's webspace for free) you might have to press "schließen" which means "close".
Best wishes,

Wow Herb, I am amazed! You have fantastic hair that appears to be anything but thin. I have straight hair so I can only dream of such volume. I'd be surprised if you were at terminal length.
It's great to hear that you were working at a care-home and helping others as well.

Fantastic curls. I hope you don't cut your hair. longhair511
Hey your hair looks great!!! Very well kept adn nice wave too! Hope yourdoing good and keep up the great work!
What a delightful post, Herb;
Although most forums are rigid about staying "on topic", it is great when folks share a bit about themselves and their lives. That is what makes the MLHH a close knit community and a feel good place (most of the time...). It takes a very special person to work with the folks with special needs...Autistic talent is incredibly fascinating. Good for you working in that area and the best of luck to you in University.
Your hair is fantastic. I can see that as thick and curly as it is that you may want to have a professional T***. Choose your stylist carefully and be very specific as to what you want.
I look forward to seeing your update posts.

Hi. Look at all the curls you have in your hair. My hair is curly but it is not as tight as your hair. I just love seeing curls like those in one's hair. Your hair is looking thick to me. I shed a lot yet my hair feels thick. I think you are at a good mid-back length, which I am aiming for. It is normal for hair to "thin" out as it nears terminal length since fewer strands make it to such length. I say away from trimming if I were you, and I know you were trying to censor that word.
On a different topic, I high a high functioning level of autism, and it is not severe, so I probably would not be going into that home.

hair looks awesome Herb! you've come such a long way and the long curly hair is just great man! 4 years of growth is something to be proud of and don't worry about the thinning it looks pretty thick to me, but maybe just get a slight trim every few months to keep your ends healthy and such, as I do that once in a while!

Excellent update Herb, your hair suits you well. Don't change a thing! Congratulations at 4 years, and your important contributions to society. It take a special type of person to embrace that line of work.
Good luck with your studies.

Your hair is absolutely gorgeous. Seeing how much length you have now tells me that you are good for even more length. Just fantastic.

Hi Herb2992,
Thank you for sharing your truly inspirational update! You are blessed with the most outstanding thick curls, and it is rare to see curly hair like yours at such an awesome length. By all means, keep it growing!
Keep it growing,
David

Thank you very much for all your compliments!
At the moment I'm really busy, so I couldn't answer all the replies seperately. It's always nice to read comments, especially from the users whose messages I read all the time when I'm just lurking.
Best wishes to all of you!

Fabulous head of hair!
Congrats on 4 years of growth.
I sure do hope you do not t*** it. You've worked hard for every inch/cm of it.

Hair looks great. The curls look really nice and not frizzy at all. How far down does your hair go if you pull the curls straight?
Thank you!
There's a photo from the back in my gallery.
It goes down to my waist, the longest front-hairs go down to my belly button when pulled straight. To me it seems quite long, as the length is hidden by the curls most of the time. Actually I like the fact that there are naturally some shorter strands aswell, I think it adds to the character of my hair.
Your hair looks great aswell and I enjoed your marathon-update a lot. Congratulations.

After seeing your hair there's no way that I'd decide to cut my hair in order to find a job. I've been having some trouble due to the length of my hair which is almost shoulder length with a similar curl and texture to your own. You have awesome curls and the length makes them look even more impressive. Very inspiring! Thanks for the update.
