After I posted the pics from my California trip it was brought up by del that I didn't show any hair in the pic of me by those great pumpkins.Well I guess I didn't even think of it when the shot was taken. So just to fix that I made a new pic of me wearing a hat I bought at the festival.I think it compliments long hair as I'm sure Walter would attest to that.LOL.I especially liked the snake skin that was incorporated around the mid part of it.If you look closely you can see the snakes head with its mouth open at the front.I thought it was kind of cool.
Mark
Hey Mark!
Your hair is looking great as always and that's a cool hat as well. This might be a silly question but is it a real snake skin?
Peter
Hi Peter,
Thanks for your response and nice compliment. As for the snakeskin I checked it over closely and it sure looks real to me.The interesting part is the head and fangs in the front. No question that looks very real.LOL
Mark
I'm glad you had a fun trip, Mark! Your hat looks really cool, so does the rest of your outfit. And of course...the hair! Looking great. :)
-Andrea
Hi Andrea,
Yes, I had a great time on my trip and got a lot accomplished. When I was looking at all the vendors at the festival that particular one caught my eye.He had all sorts of cool hats like the one I bought and even a "Slash" type hat!LOL.This one looked the best on me and I liked the cool snake on board. Thanks also for your compliment on my hair and outfit too:)Cheers my friend
Mark
Sure is Mark and almost good enough to be dry ice........which by the way means looks pretty hot on you! :-)
Great pic and thanks so much for letting us see your fabulous long hair. Really nice! :-)
Peace
Justin~
Hi Justin!
Man, you certainly have a way with words that is like no other.Thank you for your compliment and it is my pleasure to show my long hair in all its glory:)One day I'd like to meet up with you on a west coast trip.It would definately be much fun.Cheers my friend....
Mark
The hair looks great and I especially like the hat. That reminds me, I've been wanting a hat for a while now...
Yea,I never owned a hat like this until now but always did want one.I have to admit I'm a bit tired wearing baseball caps much of the time. This one is a real class act.Cheers buddy!
Mark
Now that is one cool pic Mark! The hat and the expression makes you look like your from the old west.
Paul
-------------------------
LOL!Thanks Paul as it does look that way.All I need is a more western style outfit and a pair of six shooters to complete the look.Oh well I guess my pic is sort of a mix and match.Cheers my good buddy!
Mark
Hi Mark. Wearing the hat makes you look like a cowboy. Looking at the hat, the snake head kind of looks like a head of an angel.
Matthew
--------------------------
Hi Matthew,
Ha Ha,I guess you can call me the east coast version of the Suburban Cowboy!LOL.Interesting interpretation of the snake head though as I never thought of that.BTW hoping you are getting through your situation ok as you are in my thoughts my friend.
Mark
Looks great Mark!
The well traveled hair looks good with the hat.
- Oren
Thanks Oren as the hair and hat actually did travel a couple thousand miles from CA back to NJ.Cheers my friend.
Mark
With obvious bias, that is a great looking hat. And that is one of the best photos of yourself you have posted. I cropped it down a bit and tried to bring the highlights up some, but unfortunately, the resolution is not quite high enough to do too much.....the coloring in your beard right now is just perfect.
You are well on your way to the Western look should you move this way and there are exorcisms available to remove "Jooyse" accents ! Ha! Is Opal ready for coyote training ??
Looking good my friend....Thanks for Sharing
Walter

I just could not resist this. It seems appropriate here. I have been a bit depressed and this just made my day.
Scott
That's a lovely picture Scott!
I grew up with reptiles of all sorts. My late dad was a herpetologist.
- Oren
-----------------------------------------------------
Hi Oren, I have other snakes as well. This is my largest one. She weighs about 40 pounds.
She's a beauty!
-----------------------------------------------------
She was an adoption. A guy was moving back east and could not keep her any more. I got her in November 1995. She was 27" long at that time. That means she is 14 years old now.
Scott
Hey Scott,
Great speaking with you on the phone the other night as it was cool to hear what your voice sounded like after just reading your text these many years.Cool pic of the real live snake but I'm sure it might not like the one on my hat that's not quite live anymore.Sorry you've been a bit depressed as you stated but I'm glad my post lifted your spirits my friend:)I'll give you a call again soon to chat more.Cheers
Mark
------------------------------------------------
My history with snakes goes back to early childhood. I have 5 snakes right now.
The depression is a combination of things. H1N1 is limiting my social activity and winter (my least happy time of year) is coming.
Thanks for the call. I hope to talk with you again soon, and hopefully meet you in person in the spring.
Scott
That is acool snake
I wish i had one but my wife is too scared of snakes
Birdman
---------------------------------
I have 5 of them. That is one of my small ones. Look down the thread a bit to see a really big one. Hopefully your wife can overcome her fear of snakes.
Scott
My wife is afraid of snakes also. If she sees a garden snake, she'll instruct me to chop it's head off with a shovel. No way! I just relocate the poor bugger and don't tell her. My friend and I used to catch and collect snakes when I was young.
Bruce
Scott,
That is a nice snake man! How long is she?
BTW-I like the long nails also.
VJ
-----------------------------------------------------
That one is a bit over 4 feet long. I have another one that is huge at about 40 pounds. There is a photo a little way down the thread.
The nails are good to clean my ear canals. I also use them as a tool to hold wires together while soldering them.
Scott
Scott,
Thanks for the note back. Fuuny but I assumed that probably you played the guitar...LOL I have actually noticed that many guys with long hair also have longer nails. I guess it is the natural way to be...
..is really impressive, but can you train him (her?) to pose as a hatband for hours? Ha!
Cheer up my friend
Walter
----------------------------------------------------
That would be difficult, Walter, but probably not impossible. I would need to wear a dark broad brim hat on a cool sunny day and he just might stay put.
Scott
Do you play guitar? Classical guitarists normally have long nails on the hand.
Chris.
-----------------------------------
No, not at all. I have no musical ability.
Scott
OK gentlemen, now here is "MY" snake:) I'm actually quite the herpetologist. I've been chasing snakes and turtles for far longer than I've been growing my mane - 36 years to be exact. The photo shows me photographing a timber rattlesnake in situ in its natural habitat. It's too bad my mane is tucked inside my vest or this would be a great hair photo!
---------------------------------------------
Is this in Arizona? I thought timber rattlers lived on the East Coast.
Scott
The photo of "me in action" was taken in the Appalachian Mountains. Timber Rattlesnakes are found from New Hampshire to Florida to Texas to Minnesota. They are not actually found "on the East Cost" anywhere north of extreme southeastern Virginia, with the exception of a few isolated populations in southern New Jersey. Here is another photo of some snakey field work. A rattlesnake (other than the one I was photographing) is barely visible at the lower right. Unfortunately, my mane is also barely visible.
Ha,I knew this pic would make a splash with you as I thought of WWT when I was looking at all those cool hats.Great job on the highlighting of the pic as I did use a decent camera for it being a Canon Digital Rebel. Those pics I posted below were from an iphone camera.I think Opal and I will be well at home on the west coast:)Cheers my friend:)
Mark
Great photos, the hat suits you.
Thanks Charlie as after looking at the photo more its really starting to grow on me:)Cheers
Mark
looks cool Mark! you got a western long hair looking going on and it suits you! hair looks great dude keep it up! :)
Thanks Mark, never thought I had that western look but now I'm starting to rethink that. The hat feels great to wear on my head as in very comfortable.Cheers buddy!
Mark
Mark,
Awesome hat that looks great with your even more awesome mane! Glad to hear that you had a great trip.
Mark
Hey Mark, I have to admit its great seeing you active on the board again as I've missed you during your absence.Hoping your shedding is getting under control and that you are getting stronger again after surgery. Thanks for your compliments on my pic as I'll take that to the bank!LOL.I'll be looking forward to when you resume your creative posts once again my friend:)Be well and get well!
Mark
Mark,
You hair is looking great and LONG! :-)

Mike
Thanks Mike for your post:)I'm proud of my hair but would certainly not complain if it grew another foot!Would love to join the extreme longhair club.Take care my friend.
Mark
Hi Mark,
It is always great to get an update from you, and your hair is looking fabulous these days. Hopefully, I will be able to achieve your length some day. I am also glad that you had such a wonderful time on your trip.
It was such a pleasure meeting you in June, and hopefully, we can have another meetup in the future.
Take care,
David
Hi David,
Thanks as always for your kind words of encouragement.I'm sure with time you will achieve more length too even if you think it may have slowed down.
Do let me know when you are going to travel again as I certainly would like to do meet up #2 with you.At least you know how to get to our meeting spot now:)Take care my friend.
Mark
Hi Mark,
I will be leaving to see Tammy again around the 20th of November or so. If the weather is good, we might be able to arrange something. Another possiblity is that we might still be able to have a meetup in the spring, when the days are a lot longer.
Take care,
David
Hey Mark:
Cool looking hat and great looking hair. You look like you just walked out of that Bon Jovi video "Wanted Dead or Alive." Mark the long haired cowboy ready for a duel. Talk to you soon.
Del
Hey Del,I like that imagery of walking out of that Bon Jovi video for "Wanted Dead or Alive":)I really liked that hat when I first tried it on.I guess you need to get adventurous every and then. Thanks for your comments del.Cheers
Mark
Nice hat. I've thought of getting a wide-brimmed hat myself. I think your pic demonstrates that they can go very well with long hair. :-)
I see you've got an Underarmor shirt as well. Those are nice. I've been buying them myself recently. They've worked well when I try to do anything active, especially in warm weather.
Thanks for you post David L. as I too think these kind of hats are nice compliments to a guys long hair.As for the UnderArmor shirts I think they are great even though they are kind of expensive. They make some interesting styles which I like and they fit great too:)Cheers
Mark
Hey there Markie-babes! Great to see an update from you, your hair is soooo long, and really amazing. The cowboy hat suits you very well, a cool look for sure. Glad you had a great trip, cheers buddy

Thanks John for the encouraging words about my hair.I hope too the growin' is still progressing. The holiday trip was nice and it would have been cool to cross paths with you guys so hopefully in the future that may happen.Slowly but surely I am meeting more and more board members:)Cheers my friend.
Mark
Very cool hat Mark. Goes well with your fantastic hair!
It looks like you had a grand trip to the left side of the map.
Take care!
Bruce
Hi Bruce,
Thanks for your compliments as the hat ,I think, goes better with longhair than short.Just my opinion though, lol. My trip west went very well and I accomplished most of what I wanted done regarding a possible move out that way.Time will tell though.Be well my friend.
Mark
---------------------------------------------------
Your hair looks good along with the hat and shirt.
