Well it's been 9 months since my last haircut. My hair is coming along just as I expect it too, and it's almost long enough to tuck it all behind my ears (though I know it won't stay there for long). My hair seems to be a bit thicker than I remember this go around, but that may be from learning better ways to take care of it in the early stages. For a change I figured I'd post a pic of the side/back, mostly because it shows the little wave I have in the back, something I like very much since everything on the top of my head is dead straight.
My hair is a little beat up in the picture, it suffered through 85 mph winds, salt water, and rain about 14 hours before I took this pic. But in my opinion it still looks pretty decent all things considered.
Looking nice for just 9 months - It has survived the 85mph whirlwind with flying colors!

mmmmmm... heavy winds are bad for the hair? well that might be the reason i look like im growing crows on my head.. motorcycle winds at 90mph everyday.. do you think it can be that damaging??? Id appreciate the imput
I don't have any scientific proof that high winds are bad for your hair but the constant violent flexing of your hair can't be all that good for it. My hair tangles really badly after strong winds so breakage becomes a problem. But that's just me, other people and perhaps different types of hair could be more resilient to those conditions.

In spite of the torturous conditions your hair went through it certainly doesn't look any worse for wear.Looks great actually as you are making tremendous progress my friend. The waves look great but the dead straight hair is so cool too.I speak from experience:)Thanks for posting your cool update!

Thanks for the compliment. Straight hair is awesome, especially for lenth! But my hair is kind of strange being straight on the top and sides, but wavy in the back. Every person who ever cut my hair when I had it short complained about how hard it was to cut because it was so different in both type, and thickness from the front to the back. At least they don't have to worry about it anymore.

It looks good. I don't think I would've have been able to tell that it had been beat up soon before the pic was taken.
Great progess so far and it's certainly survived the elements thats for sure.
Good luck with it as it grows.
Cheers,

Looks good and will look even better as it grows.
Not any worse for standing out in a hurricane!

Your hair looks good and in good condition!
I have wavy hair too. I hated it during the awkward stage, but now that I'm almost out, it looks really awesome.
How long do you plan to grow your hair?
Luke.
Right now I'm probably going to stop a little past shoulder length. I'll have to see how that length works for me while at work. I work on a boat so I won't get a chance to let my hair down often. If I still had a land based job I have no idea when I'd stop. I used to have hair around that length and it was great, long enough to enjoy it, but short enough that it wasn't ever a hassle. And that's perfect for my lifestyle.
