HI Guys, I thought some of you might like to read a few tips on hair care/washing/shampooing from Dr. Oz, who is a big media star in the states. Basically, he is agreeing with much less shampoo, and the conditioner or water-only washing most days.
Some of his other tips include diet stuff to stop hair loss, such as eating more advocados, green tea, and much less red meat (as it causes hair loss for some people). He encourages eating more fish (for the Omega vitamins) and more veggies like you mom always said to.
Nice to see doctors reaching out to the longhairs!

Dr. Oz on hair care
Hi Dan,
Thanks for sharing that article and the advice does certainly make sense. I hope that Dr OZ is not hiding behind a curtain!
Cheers,
John.B
Well, here's what Wikipedia says about Dr. Oz. I can't see why a cardiovascular surgeon would be an expert on hair.
HI Antonius,
I am aware of the connections with the doctor, but fortunately, his advice on hair is completely free of any Rx for any growth meds or whatever. Point well taken about his background with the industry. Still, his recommendations are pretty much what good nutrition advice we got from our parents and teachers.
True, he is a cardiologist, yet, as you must be aware, he had to become a generalist first before he became a specialist in heart care. I have read two of his books on general health care, and they are pretty solid, NOT recommending any kind of drugs or crazy diets. You are right, just because he is a regular on Oprah, does not make him an expert. Still, I thought what he had to say on the site amplifies what many guys on this site have each said was true for their own experience. I am one of those gullible people who also like to see a "DOCTOR" say it too!
It is always good to be aware of where any "expert" has any special interest backers, so thanks for the caution.
