Hmmm, life kinda stinks right now. Wish I had a job and was living on my own. As some of you may know, I've become a skirted man. Well, that set off the Christian Fundamentalist part in my family. For a while, they didn't talk to me, then yesterday, they went up into my room and discovered that I had quite a few skirts. Made them very angry.
So, last night, I was read the rights. I'm supposed to get my hair cut off in the next few hours, and will not be allowed to grow it out again for a while (possibly a LONG while). It is set in stone, so I'm not able to compromise. Now, this may seem to be a post that someone would think is a troll's post, but, it is for real. :(
Well, I guess I should get ready to go get a part of my body lopped off. This is a sad, sad day for me.

Sorry to hear that bud! How old are you? You can do what you want if you live on your own
Marco, I'm 26, almost 26.5 years old. I will be living on my own, especially since I was able to convince the hair stylist to just leave the length in the front, on the sides, and top alone. I only lost the stuff at the bottom of the rear, which was about 4-6" longer than the rest. At the same time, that made my mother unhappy with me, again, so I've been told to move out.

How old are you, and are you living with your parents? If you are over 18 do what you want, if your under 18 you could try to fight it. I understand the religous right side problems, my aunt and uncle are that way and have teased me for years about how I look, Some times it seems very harsh. When I think about it though It seems so hipocritical when some one that is always preching something or another from scripture that they always seem to forget to treat others how you would like to be treated and so on. I say don't give in. I did once and not to family. You will regret it later, trust me I know. And just out of curiousity what kind of skirts do you wear? Like a kilt or something? I say if it works for you go with it. It takes alot of balls to be comfortable defying the norm. The way they went through your stuff sounded like a witch hnt.
Tom, I'm 26. Yes, I'm living at home, currently. Hopefully not for long. I didn't completely give in, since I did get my hair length all-one-length, but it's not really long enough for a ponytail anymore. I used to have one that went down to the upper-midsection of my back. Now, when I pull it back, it looks like a bun, even though it wasn't done that way. For skirts, I wear masculine looking skirts that were originally marketed for women, but fit my body well.

Well, if they've already cut your hair, you can have some fun with them . . . Grab your bible, and go to:
1) Deuteronmy 22:12 & show them where the bible says they have to sew tassles on all their clothes
2) Deut 22:5 -- women are not to wear men's clothes (pants!)
3) I Corinthians 11:15 -- women may not have short hair (what ever "short" hair is . . .
4) I Cor 11:5 -- women must wear hats while praying or prophesying
5) I Timothy 2:9 -- women are not to braid their hair or wear any jewelry (see also I Peter 3:3)
6) Leviticus 19:19 -- must not crossbreed farm animals, or wear clothers made with mixed fabrics (cotten/polyester blends)
7) Lev 19:27 -- must not trim your sideburs or beard
8) Lev 11:6-10 must not eat rabbit, ham, bacon, oysters, clams, or shrimp
9) Lev 14:35 -- got mold or mildew in the shower? Ha! You gotta call the priest and have him take a look at it! Ha ha ahahahah! Funny, but true . . .
10) Lev 20:18 -- couples having sex during the menstrual cycle must be exiled
11) I Timothy 2:12 -- women cannot be teachers or have any authority over men
12) I peter 3:7 -- women are the weaker sex
13) I Cor 14:34-35 -- women are not to speak or ask questions in church; they must wait until they get home and then ask their husbands
14) Leviticus 15:19-23 -- (my favorite) menstruating women must leave town for 7 days
15) Exodus 35:2 -- calls for the death penalty for working on the sabbath
That's good for starters . . . just ask your oppressors why they make YOU follow the bible when they themselves don't?
Good luck,
--Tock

Tock, I'll do that... hehe Oh, btw, I was able to compromise. Lost the length in the back, but still kept the bangs, side length, and the top length. Essentially, the stylist told my mother that there was not much she could do, other than trim the back up. So, all was not lost (in more ways than one). It does mean, though, that I do have to quicken the pace on getting a job, and get enough cash flowing in, so I can do rent, utilities, and auto insurance on my own. Then, I can get out of this hell-hole, and into an apartment.

I enjoyed reading this!!! I disagree with your suggestion/or read into what Corinthians states, and that is that women may not have short hair (your point #3). I'm sure that is how most people would see this. But the way St. Paul stated it is that it is a SHAME for women/girls to have short hair and men/boys to have long hair. The dictionary describes the word shame as: "a painful EMOTION caused by consciousness of guilt, shortcoming, or impropriety". St. Paul didn't state that it was wrong or a sin for a woman/girl to have short hair, or a man/boy to have long hair. If this is what he meant, why didn't he state it this way?: "Men/boys shall not have long hair" and Women/girls shall not have short hair". Besides, later in Corinthians, he states that if these statements cause strife, that they are to be disregarded. Finally, I'm not ashamed to have long hair just as women/girls are not ashamed to have short hair. If women/girls can break this "law", so can men/boys!!! So GUYS, lets ALL keep our hair as long as we want it and let our SONS have it too!!! Let's disregard what St. Paul wrote in Corinthians because if anyone reads that long hair on a man is a shame to him, that person will FEEL my WRATH/STRIFE!!!!!!!!!
My apologies, John, on behalf of all Bible-believing Christians. If Jesus was here today he would have rebuked your folks in the same words that he rebuked the Pharisees of his time: "you blind guides, straining out gnats and swallowing camels".
Thanks, Rudy... In any case, the length I have it right now, is the shortest it will be for a LONG time.
