My fiancé has the most gorgeous head of hair .. And he's having a hard time finding a job. I know it's because his hair is long. I'm having a hard time trying to keep his spirits up and being supportive but I'm not sure what to tell him. What is the proper way to wear long hair for men, for interviews, job hunting, etc? I love his hair nd don't want him to cut it at all. Any advice would be so helpful.
Thanks
Try a flat(ish) pony tail and tuck it inside his jacket? Not immediately obvious then and no way to tell how long it actually is. To be honest suprised it matters as long as he is dressing well, decent suit etc, I suppose the only time long hair may be a concern is if your applying for a role where you're going to be representing a company a lot, they may want your generic businessman image for that.
One advantage of being a trucker, you can look however the hell you want to ;)
I'd agree with either the ponytail or the braid. I think the way a person carries themselves goes farther than anything though. If he's confident and well dressed in the interview the hair shouldn't really be a big problem, especially if it's kept professional looking. Keep trying and good luck!
Oh and it's probably not the hair, it's a rough time for anybody looking for a job these days.
I put mine up in a "bee-but" bun for work (office). Most people I work with know that I have "long" hair because they saw me growing it out but have no idea how long it actually is.
