Saw this and thought of how I would probably feel if I was losing my hair. A lot of the comments people are making on it are pretty hard.
Thoughts?

Eh, people just cant relate, mostly men cant relate to a guy wanting to have long hair that badly, but im sure some women are stuck in their stereotypical view of what a man should look like as well.

I'm sure some are, isn't it sad??
I vaguely remember Brooke Shields getting a lot of stick for 'making' him shave his head but when you know what was really going on at the time, it couldnt have been that easy for either of them
Wow,I never knew! Thanks for posting that interesting read as now I feel for the guy. When I first learned, years ago, that he shaved his head bald I thought what a traitor he was to long haired guys. Its hard enough for a guy to grow long hair but to see a high profile athlete give up his hair is shocking. Now I know the real story and respect him that he at least tried to remain a longhair.Being active professionally you have to give him credit for trying to maintain his identity.Sometimes, I guess, you have to know when to quit.

Did you cut your hair?

haha no, I just don't use myspace anymore
my facebook link can be found in the myspace
I remember that he did cut it due to baldness catching up to him. Obviously, quite a few guys try to fight it, at least for a while, and some never give up the fight, even when it's lost (combover dudes, you're better off facing reality, really!).
I can see the public admission of crystal meth use, but personally, if I were him, I would have kept the wig stuff to myself. Not very dignified, but he seems set on getting everything out (isn't this what confessional is for? ;) )
He was on the cover of People magazine this week- my first thought was it was the Captain Merrill Steubing of the Love Boat. Time takes its toll.

I disagree, the fights never up until you give up on it. When my hair starts to go (if my dads family is any indication, not for a while) I'm keeping the skullet and I'm gonna be damn poud of it. Same way with a shorter terminal length or gray/white hair. I'm going with as natural as my hair can possibly be. That said, I'm not against people who do dye, style, or do whatever else to their hair. If you want 50 different colors in your hair and wanna spike it up 2 feet, go for it. But thats just not for me. And it may the fact that I literally couldn't care less about how somebody looks, but I say if you loose your hair and wanna have a combover, go for it. It's your appearance. The only two things that bug me are faux hawks and when someone shaves everything off except for a tiny, thin, little line that goes down and around their chin.
Even now I'd rather be a homeless longhair than cut my hair for some uptight, closed-minded corporate ass. Even if I DID cut it, thered be no point because I'd have virtually no respect for the guy that hired me and Id probably end up fired.
Never too late to fight,

Power to your split ends mate :-)
I wonder how I would deal with that too. It sounds like his heart was broken to see his loss of hair. I feel bad for him.
Some of the comments made are pretty rude.
