Well , is it normal that my hair starts getting curly when I'm growing it?
Well the "big" answer sometimes yes and it really depends on people's hair type and texture etc. As it grows longer and weighs more it will curl less.

It depends on the person but as it starts to grow it may curl and wave, but as it grows longer it tends to fall straighter because of the weight.
Yea, that really depends upon your hair type. My hair is a wavy type. So it looks fairly straight when very short, curly/wavy when medium long and very straight below shoulder-length. You'll probably notice differences as it grows out.

Strange as it may seem, a lot of people don't know they have curly/wavy hair because they've never grown it long enough for the curls to show.
