Quick question, I had long hair to my butt untill I was about 21, I cut it because I was blackmailed by boss, I had just started working and about a month into a job, and car loan and school loans he tells me I'll be fired if I don't cut my hair, I was neive and had no support at the time.( I posted a while back about this) any way it is grown back to my shoulders now and has been about a year since I last cut it ( I have hated short hair so much I promise myself never to cut it again). I want it to grow back as long as it was before, maybe longer ;). I was ultra blond when I was a child, untill about 10-12 when it started to darken. My hair is now a cross between brown, red, and some blond. My parents have darker hair, graying now, (must be milkmans child ? )moms was a very dark brown almost black, and dad was very dark as well. What color will it finaly settle on do you think? I would love to have blond hair like (bad refrence from the eighties) the band Nelson (rick Nelsons twin sons) or really dark long hair like say Anthony Keidis from red hot chili peppers. I'm not trying to look like any one but I want to now If I bleach or dye it how much damage it will do. Also to anyone thinking of cutting hair Don't You'll hate your self.
HI. Im a cosmotologist in a sallon. Went to school because I wanted a job were I can have long hair without getting any slack. Make pretty good money also. My specialty is color. Color is fine for your hair as long as you go to a proffesional. They will give you a consultation on what colors will work best with your skin tones. from the sounds of it blond highlights would be great for yoou. If you do color all your hair one color, when you do re-touches on your roots make sure you only color the root area, not all the hair. if you keep coloring all of your hair over and over it will fry and break off. only have the colorist pull the color through the rest of your hair the last 10 minutes of processing to brighten the color. It is very important when growing out hair to get a maianaince cut every 3 months to trim spil ends. Hair grows 1/2 inch every month and if you dont keep up with ends again your hair will keep breaking off. Finally when you are growing your hair it is very, very important to use a good shampoo. Do not buy anything from a grocery store. Use only professional products from a saloon on your hair. (Panteen and Herbalesence are the worst. Sallon shampoos are more expensive but you only need to use the size of a dime , so a bottle will last 6 months. I personally like Redkis So Long made exspecially for long hair. Also invest in a good leave in conditioner. Once a month if you can go to a saloon and get a deep conditioning scalp treatment. You will not beleive what it will do for your hair. Never Ever use a hot oil treatment. If Money is a concern for you try going to a local beauty school. MOst students do a very good job. They just take a little longer because they get graded on it. Also they have licensed instructers watching what they are doing. You can get a good color job at a fraction of the cost that you will spend in a saloon. Good Luck
I'm sorry, but you downeaster got me laughin' man. The only thing I ever spend money on in a saloon is beer. Maybe if I ask nice the longhaired Harley riders down there will wash my mane in beer???
Seriously, the above sounds like the "have a mane in five years for only two thousand dollars" plan. I liked the "have a mane in three years for nuthin'" plan a lot more. It left me money to spend on beer.
