Although I'm mostly lurking and resigning as a moderator I'm still growing!
I switched to water only washing recently because my hair was dry. Don't know if I will keep it up, at least for now and if I like the results I will use this routine from now on.
So if you think my hair is greasy your right it is :p
Improvements:
-All my dandruff is gone!
-My hair has more shine, need to buy a good brush for full potential. In my old routine I never brushed it right now brushing my hair keeps it clean and distributes the oil.
-Less frizz because the sebum holds the hair together.
Still looking for a good boar bristle brush didn't like the ones I found up until now.
I will also post a few pics, including a new braid picture! I amezed at the lenght in the picture with the hair loose from the back. I can't believe the guy with the long hair is me.

I was wondering if you braid that yourself? if it is, how long did it took you? It's just that I've never done that before and mine is turning 27 months in Nov. 20. You hair is so beautiful. Sorry for my bad english. I'm from Asia :-)

Yes I did that braid myself it's not as hard as you think it is. Jason and Joao from this board have great video's showing how to braid your hair yourself. I think it took me about 5-10 minutes but I'm still a beginner when you're trained it can be done much faster.
And your english is fine so don't worry.

I'm working on going down to water wash only, I use shampoo about once a week now. But I find that when I DONT use shampoo and my hair gets a little greasy is when I loose more hair.
Also, Im currently going for the same facial hair you have :) Although, eventually I'll probably just go full beard (right now I get a moustache, some chin hair, and pitiful sideburns)

Yes, it took me a while to switch over. I've using less and less shampoo until I could stop using it. I also did some water only washes before to try it out. Not sure if I loose more hair hard to tell.
We're in the same boat, this is also all I can grow right now. I can grow a half beard, only one side of my face has facial hair. So right now I settled for this, but I want to grow a full beard too.
I already reached my original goal lenght, but I will just let it grow more to see if I like it. I guess I will settle for mid-back lenght.
wow Vincent great update dude! your hair is very healthy looking and with lots of shine :). I am seriously impressed by your hairs length, im at 32 months and mines about your length but I have wavy hair so mine is going to take longer to show length lol but anyways keep it growing brother!

I really like the wavy ends of your hair. My hair is at shoulder length and it is wavy as well, it looks really awesome.

Wow, Vincent! Your hair is so long now! I've seen some of your first updates, you look like a total different person and I think the long hair really suits you.
It's great you found the washing routine wich works best for you! I tried water only washes but my hair gets very greasy if I don't use any shampoo or conditioner. My routine is more like shampoo and conditioner wash one day, a "little" water wash 3 days after ("A little" because I just drop some water on my head with a cup) and one or two days after another shampoo and conditioner wash.
What's your goal length? Keep it up!

Thanks, It really is long indeed. The longhair is quite a transformation. Some people I haven't seen for a long time don't reconize me anymore.
Well I'm always experimenting to find the best routine. I don't know if I like this routine I haven't used it long enough yet.
It has a lot of advantages but also some downsides.
This is my goal lenght, but I will keep it growing to see if I like it.
Hi Vincent. Your hair is nice. What interests me about your hair is that it appears straight when it is near your head, and then going down, it forms big curls.

I tried the water only washes for awhile but my hair,I thought,was starting to look really flat and lifeless so I kind of gave up on that.I'm back to daily washing with shampoo and conditioner and am satisfied with the results at this time.My shedding has gone way down since September when it was at its worst.That's the main reason I tried water only washes because I thought I was making my hair too dry with daily shampooing.Not the case now.Anyway thanks for the splendid update and keep it growing!Cheers my friend

Wow! Love it! I think I will try water only washings! I am so mad at myself for getting two perms when I was younger! My hair was never the same after that. Before the perms it was healthy and shiny and not damaged. After the perms it has been nothing but dry, brittle and very damaged. But of course us women tend to use more blow drying, coloring, styling, and hair accessories than men so that could be a reason why my hair seems to be more damaged and grow less quickly.

Well I still testing it myself so I don't know the final results yet. But it is worth a try.
I do nothing with my hair except washing and finger combing. A blow dryer will never come close to my hair!
Try to minimize what you do with your hair and I'm sure the quality will become better.
