All these haircut sites are like fetish sites. Anyway I replied, with what little difference it'll make!
Man, that board is amazing. I was tempted to post there, but I decided against it.
They're like the antithesis of us here. While we advocate growing hair long, they advocate a total buzz.
Again, I say it's your hair, do with it what you want. If that's what they want, hey, I don't mind a bit.
I just hope no idiot from there starts any flame wars here or anyone here says anything derogatory over there.
That board does make for some interesting reading!
I agree Rokker, they are the exact opposite of us, how intriguing.
I don't agree with their backwards use of Headbangers pictures at all. I thought the Internet usually contained a type of etiquette about stealing and using other peoples pics out of context.
I just hope no flame wars do start. I've seen them destroy forums.

You really don't know what will be done with your photos when you put them on the web. You have no idea what a tourist will do with a photo he takes of you on the street, either. You do have the right however, as a private person not in the public eye, to request any public or inappropriate use be removed as a violation of your privacy. You have a cause of legal action against the person who posted it, and against the site owner if he does not remove it promptly upon your request. This is not a matter of "etiquette" as hypothesized above. It is a matter of law.
As for flame wars, again, let's not go there. They have been around for as long as we have, they have their thing and we have ours. Their site owners, like Victor, surely wish their users would just leave the other board and its users alone.
In the name of fair-use, I saw the last paragraph and it said: For all you know, your "before" photo may show up on a haircutting fetish site with it labeled "after".
We don't misuse the photos [from the buzz hair-cut sites] on our Men's Long-Hair Board. Now, why are the hair-cut sites misusing the photos [from this Long-Hair Site]? Are they just showing how worse then we are? And they say that long-hairs are the crooks? Do you want to believe the television where a crook turns out to have long hair, or do you want to believe the W.W.W. where you can see that the short-hairs are plagerizing the long-hairs?
Actually, I'm surprised there is a board for buzzies. What would they have to talk about? "Soap or shampoo: What should I wash my head with?"(?)

From what I've seen on those boards, is that all they post are pictures of people getting haircuts. Once again I think it's obvious why I think those sites are fetish sites.

the american heritage dictionary of the english language's fourth definition of fetish (which i thought sounded most appropriate in this case) says it is "An abnormally obsessive preoccupation or attachment; a fixation."
so i thought maybe you meant they had some "obsession" with short hair. i guess that makes sense, but i was not quite sure what you meant.
A fetish an unusual attraction to an object, such as leather. Some people get aroused when they see people in leather who normally they wouldn't find attractive. It's the same principal, that these people are getting aroused seeing pictures of people getting their haircut.
Yeah. This man is just having some sort of 'dominants' wet day dream about what he would like to do with an attractive guy. Ignore the prick.

Im seriously cant believe that man. It makes me wonder how many other crazy places on the internet have my mug on them. anyways, i felt i had to post, being that IT WAS MY PICTURE. I made a nice post(as to not start any flame wars) but made sure my point got across. here is what i said:
other way around bro, its been 15, count them 15, months since i have gotten my hair cut. I cant believe someone would go as low as to STEAL pictures from a friendly longhair messageboard, used for support and encouragement, and put it on this board, a negative derrogatory board. Instead of putting people down about having long hair, try to accept the fact that not all people want their hair short. If you wanna be proud and show off your short hair, go for it. But you dont have to be dicks to people who have their hair otherwise. notice how civil i am being towards you, even after you stole my picture. maybe you should try being civil every now and then, you might be suprised how much more effective it is (at least when dealing with people with some form of intelligence.)
i like that last comment, because it makes it so nobody can take this "disagreeance" any further without looking stupid.
I hope this doesn't discourage you from sharing your update pictures with us, as you have awesome hair man!

A few months back someone else came across a short hair discussion board and brought it to the attention of the folks here. A number of us checked them out and found what they advocated to be very repulsive. Some of us saw fit to comment about that on their board. We got banned from there for our troubles.
I didn't like that and thought it unfair but I also realize that if we are to have the freedom to be who we are here then they should have the freedom to be who they are there. Unauthorized use of personal images is something else and again though and that should not be allowed to continue.
That being said, I think we should just let the short hair folks continue in their own little world. They think we're just as strange in our Longhair ways. Fine. It's a big country and, at least until Ashcroft & company have their way, still a free one.
So, let them be.

I hear you and I understand how insulting their attitude is. However, we should just let them be. I watched this go down badly the last time we found a short hair board. A few Longhairs from here behaved pretty badly in stomping around the short hair board. That was not right - how ever good it might have felt for them at the time.
I just think it pretty hypocritical for some Longhairs here to preach tolerance and understanding but to then become abusive of short hairs at the first opportunity.
The short hairs on that board have established their own strange little world. I say leave them to it.

OK, now let's get this straight … let's just hope that some short-hairs don't go stomping around Men's LongHair HyperBoard. Yes, this is why we see some of these "trolls" on LongHair HyperBoard, but we usually don't have that problem.
It's nice that we long-hairs don't tell the short-hairs to grow their hair long. But the short-hairs there want to make sure that the long-hairs get their hair-cut. Perhaps, this is why the long-hairs have become defensive and stirred trouble at the short-hair board? Example:

I would escort you promptly to my barber, haul your little ass into the barber chair, order the barber to take you down to a quarter-inch all-around butch, and make sure you politely tell the barber "Thank you" afterwards.
I know you will consider my remarks "derogatory" or "negative", but frankly I think you are really a handsome, good-looking young man who is simply making a serious personal grooming mistake. I'm sure that any young woman would find your picture of you in short hair to be very appealing and "cute", as they say. But now you are on the road to ruin and need to turn back before it is too late. You are clearly going for a longhair look and will find it harder to turn back the longer you go. Be honest: don't you often think about getting it cut short again? Don't you find the long hair to be a nuisance, too hot, or too time-consuming to manage? I urge you to get it cut.
